"I visited this restaurant with my family on a last-minute decision. Although another reviewer mentioned that it was extremely busy, we found that there were some available seats, and the staff was diligently working to ensure that the service was top-notch, as always. I have no complaints about the food; the hunter's chicken was delicious and even earned a thumbs-up from a picky eater at our table. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were checked on within five minutes of receiving our food, which was great. The service was excellent! Mark made sure our drinks were always topped up without us having to ask. He was friendly and very welcoming, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him. Thank you! I can't wait to return. I've never had a bad experience here, and the recent renovations are lovely too!"

Fabulous place just off the main Stafford Road. Right on the canal so lovely place to sit outside on a sunny day and watch the barges going past. Real ales and good food here. Plenty of parking. Gets busy in summer with families.

We called in with a couple of friends last night. Love the makeover . Smart but cosy. Didn’t intend eating but opted for a sharing platter and a couple of pizzas which were really nice . Staff friendly too. So much better than before. We’ll be back again

Today, I visited The Anchor Inn for Sunday dinner, and I was impressed by the excellent quality of the food. Our server, Stuart, made us feel very welcome and was a standout part of our experience. I would definitely recommend that people give The Anchor a try!

We had a delightful dinner yesterday with my partner, and they even offer meals for dogs! There's a great selection of beers, wines, and spirits. Jenny particularly enjoyed the Gordons Oink gin paired with Sicilian lemon tonic. We've already made a reservation for Mother's Day, which features a three-course meal for just under £21.

Called in for a hot chocolate mid morning last week after a lovely but wet walk with a friends dog. The staff could not have been lovelier, and welcomed our well behaved dog who enjoyed a snooze by the . So pleased there are pubs around that welcome our four legged friends . Service and food were beautifully served and the new decor is beautiful. Well done The Anchor!
