"The weekday lunch menu was £12 for two courses or £15 for three, which seemed an excellent value for the quality of food. You have three choices for each course. The mains included a meat, a fish, and a vegetarian dish. Before our first course the waitress delivered a carafe of ice water (yay, no need to ask for refills) and two slices of warm, crusty bread with a tasty pesto dipping sauce. The pacing of the meal was a little on the slow side for a lunch. It was fine for us because we were not in a hurry on this particular afternoon, but for folks on a limited lunch break, this might be a problem. My lentil, spinach, and chick pea curry was enjoyable as a main. I followed this with...read more"

Decor reminds me of ha ha bar and kitchen which was in Glasgow many moons ago.

atelier means studio or workshop in French, and that is what is necessary. a workshop in the menu. the service was stuffy and dry.

Either I'm missing something or the Priory is missing something because whatever it was just wasn't entirely right on my visit to the Priory Saturday night.

the atelier is a promising new addition to our edinburgh restaurant wallpaperstry. the quality of their dishes is very high, and all other elements for success are available.

Freshly opened where Umair used to trade, The Atelier seeks to showcase local produce in fresh and exciting combinations, from sleekly refurbished premises on Morrison Street. Decor is minimalist, with sparse greyness dominant. It’s really quite stylish, though newness makes it feel slightly stark, but this will improve once the place is better worn in. The menu gave me considerable pause for thought. Not only did dishes read impressively, they presented a range of possible routes to success. Did I opt for seafood, something more hearty, or did I slavishly stick to August’s current veggie plan? I opted for traditional soup, which today was cauliflower, followed by a fabulous...read more

my first impression is, this is a michael star restaurant. there was this type of aura. from the offset was the menu familiar with the preferences of other MS restaurants, tasting sets. Maybe that's it and I just didn't know about it. a thing makes it aside, the price. I come every day over the kitchen, 21212 or closed. So I ordered the scallops, and then that was lamming as my head. as with all French, they will make you wait. so something brot to begin with two types of butter, one with seaweed and another that was orange and not quite hear what it was. then I'll get something in there that serves a bit like dead. the scallops were perfect with the starter that contained ice...read more

The Atelier is warm, welcoming and cosy. The waitress who welcomed us felt like an old dear friend and she guided us into the dining area and made sure we did not trip over the small step. Once seated she served us an amuse bouche of butternut squash soup with truffle and truffle oil. It looked really impressive and I like when you receive a little something at the start of your meal. The soup was amazing, but I personally could have done without the oil. It was all in such a small cup it got a bit too concentrated with all that truffle flavor and the truffle pieces tended to stick in my teeth. As a main I had risotto with a saffron creme. The addition of figs were nice but not a...read more
