"Parked in pub car park, happily chatting walking into the pub, meeting family sitting in rear pub garden for early evening food and drinks, thinking the car park was for customer use only to then receive a £100 car parking fine weeks later and if paid early reduces to £60. NO ONE working at the pub asked us if we arrived by car and should complete their digital car registration form. We have never had to be on the look out in any pub car parks previously when having food and drinks as a customer. Completed the smart parking fine appeal form explaining on that day/time we were at the pub as a customer and supplemented with the necessary pub receipts as evidence the appeal was rejected (shocked! requesting either pay the fine or follow another route to appeal. We have now contacted the pub email [hidden email] for their assistance to help resolve. Pub email received says ‘not to pay the fine’ and instead provide details over to them to cancel the fine. Staff here need to, out of courtesy, raise to all customers on arrival!"

I just arrived at the restaurant and was able to get a table for two, which was great! The roast belly of pork with all the trimmings was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Thank you.

We travelled down from Reading and met up here with friends who were boating on the canal. Booked a table for seven. Really good pub food, good range of drinks and good service in a fab location for the canal. Happy customers!

Had a lovely evening in this local pub. Steaks were fab, cooked exactly as ordered Jasmine was amazing front of house. Working on her own on a busy night she was never flustered, always communicating with customers to let them know she would address their requests ASAP.

Stopped for a quick pint 40 mins only to receive a letter 2 weeks letter informing me of a £100 fine for parking in the pub car park! How the hell can it make sense to fine your customers for visiting your pub and how can you justify the disgraceful £100? Complete and utter disgrace

Fabulous food and a lovely setting : we went as vegans and the choices were limited but enough and the quality of the food was excellent. The sauces on offer added to the flavours and the staff were very helpful. Only point I would say is the tables felt a bit sticky so maybe a different cleaning product? Outside of that I would definitely come again :

I called to make a reservation but was put on hold by an automatic system. After a few minutes of ringing, someone finally answered and abruptly told me to stop calling continuously because there was no one available to answer. They said someone would call me back and then hung up without any further communication. I was shocked by the incredible rudeness of this interaction. Needless to say, no one ever called me back. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant unless you enjoy being shouted at.

We visited the Barge Inn on the way back from a walk in the brecon beacons. I was disappointed to be hit with a £100 parking fine a month later from their own car park!!! After contacting the Barge in to discuss the charge, I was further enraged to learn that oh this happens all the time. We forgot to tell you to log your vehicle registration I am now left with the awkward situation of requesting a bank statement from my father-in-law, evidencing the procurement of horrendous beer and flat cider to pass to Smart Parking. Will not be visiting again.

You know when you can’t put your finger on it… I don’t know why I didn’t love this place, but I didn’t. Great location. Especially if you’re boating. The menu had a pizza selection plus other meals ie burgers, fish chips, and other things like salmon and a beef stroganoff. But I thought it was a boring menu, with little choice. I had ham egg and chips it was alright. But not ooh that was fabulous, really tasty. The staff more interested in each other than the customers. One of the waitresses was nice but the others aloof. Might have been an off day but not sure I’ll give them a second chance. Go on past and go to The Lock Inn I’d say.

We ate here last night. We were greeted and served by a lovely friendly lady. The pub is cosy with a lovely open fire. The menu was nice and varied with plenty of choice. The service was quick and the food was amazing. We had the Mackerel fish cakes and the pork belly and the pie of the day followed by the crumble of the day and the cheesecake. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented with generous portions. There is a good sized car park but you must remember to register your car registration number as soon as you arrive but there is no problem remembering this as there's a massive sign on the entrance door. We had a lovely evening with great food and great service and would def...

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
