"Been here many times before for lunch and have always been pleased with the quality and value for money of the food and draught ales. This lunchtime though we were disappointed because our visit was spoiled by the attitude of the front of house bar staff. One of us asked if he could taste a beer he was interested in, and was flat out refused. Then we requested that our second drinks order could be taken at our table. Again, refused. When we came to pay we expressed our disappointment to the bar staff and were met with a sullen negative response. Finally, we were accused of not paying for an item of food and were able to point out it was the staff who had made the mistake. Despite the food and drink being excellent, we were left with a very sour taste in the mouth and will find it difficult to return any time soon."

Very good value for money. Generous portions and a great selection of veg. We had a roast beef and a roast pork and they didn't disappoint.

Lovely lunch in a nice village. Very welcoming staff and dog friendly. Home cooked food, delicious, large portions and good value for money. Highly recommended.

A family gathering of 21 in the Private Skittle Room. Good food, good ale and a warm welcome. We were also fortunate that a cricket match was on in the field at the rear of the pub.

Great Christmas meal at The Beaufort Arms last night. Myself and my partner couldn't fault it. Good food excellently cooked and hot. Service was very good. Wine very enjoyable. A lovely evening all round. Thank you to the team at The Beaufort.

What a lovely pub in such a friendly and pretty village. We both had lamb shanks which were tender and beautiful and then shared the delightful raspberry meringue nest, which was excellent. Excellent value for money and all served with a smile! View menu

Went with several members of my family for a pre Christmas get together. We had ordered The Christmas Menu in advance and were not disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection and was served piping hot. The beef was cooked beautifully and the roast potatoes were really lovely and crispy. As always the staff were friendly and welcoming. All in all a great evening out and worth every penny.

As a local we tend to eat here every few months or so for special occasions. At short notice my wife and I decided to eat there last Friday. At lunchtime I booked the final table for that evening in the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised to see ribeye steak as that weeks' special. I have to say that I found it one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, cooked just right medium/well done, really tender and a good size. As steak is not a regular option on the menu I guess it was my lucky day!

"Went for an impromptu meal with her indoors, as this was a local pub we've not been in for a long time we thought will pop in. Greeted by an over enthusiastic bar person who was dragging out the empties from the night before, ordered a couple of drinks and we sat down with the menu's, after perusing the menu we were ready to order, at the same time we were ready a regular couple walked in and sat at there regular table and oredered there regular meal, but the regular gentleman actually wanted an extra sausage with his sausage and chips, well! The kerfuffle this caused was astronomical, this conversation went on for Many many minutes, my wife and I was desperately trying to catch her attention to have another drink, eventually my wife went to the bar and waited, we got served eventually. Then our food came out of the kitchen, we went for the light bites as we were in a snacky mood, Chicken strips Mozzarella bites Chips with curry sauce and nachos. We never got the nachos as there was no guacamole BTW Chips came out which were actually fries, covered in this sauce, gross, then we had 3 chicken strips with no garnish £4.95 £1.63 each Then 4 mozzarella bites came out, no, nothing else just 4 mozzarella bites, £4.95 £1.24 each. So if you want have your pants pulled down and be robbed of your hard earned cash then this is the place to go, as for me and my wife we won't be. We did mention the poor quality and value for money but it was brushed under the dirty carpet and she was going to feed our comments back to the kitchen."

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
