"Like many other people, my wife and I were amazed by the great reviews for the food and service at this relatively small restaurant in Llandrillo. We were staying in Corwen, the night before going to a wedding, and we were very lucky indeed to get a table for 8pm. We were not disappointed Caroline and Chris are both very welcoming, attentive and the food is simply stunning (and the wine was great too). Chris is a magician! He really is brilliant at what he does. He is so thorough and he has clearly spent many years honing his craft – there is so much attention to detail. If you (and your family and friends) like good food, then this is the place to go! The flavours, textures, temperatures and presentation of the food are all excellent. The size of the portions are really good and sensible and the relatively low prices are amazing (especially considering the very high standard of the cuisine and service). We’ve eaten out twice recently, one in a city restaurant and the other in a country pub. We paid much more for each course and while the food was good it was not as good as that served at the Berwyn Restaurant. This restaurant is very highly recommended but, we were lucky, book in advance to avoid disappointment!"

Amazing hospitality for the annual review of our group. The care taken to give us an excellent meal in congenial surroundings was more than we could have hoped for. This made for a wonderful evening.

I highly recommend both the food and owners. The steak was one of the best I have tasted (and I am quite fussy with steak), the dauphinois were mega along with home cooked chips. I would give my who experience a 10/10.

I stumbled upon this restaurant and booked a dog-friendly table for our last night in Llandrillo. We only had starters and main courses because they were so filling. It's a shame we couldn't try the desserts, as they looked amazing. The husband and wife team were very attentive, and the restaurant was truly a gem.

We always feel lucky to get a table at The Berwyn. Is this the best kept secret in North Wales? Chris and Caroline put a lot of effort into making every visit special. The Berwyn is a jewel of a restaurant, always a friendly welcome, a pleasant atmosphere and home cooked food. Thank you again for another lovely evening and great food View menu

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Caroline and Chris truly go above and beyond to provide a personalized service and serve delicious food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our large group requested an early Christmas meal and we were very impressed. The dishes were perfectly portioned and of the highest quality. The starters and desserts were particularly exceptional. They also offer a good variety of drinks.

We were staying in a holiday let in Llandrillo and visited the restaurant 3 times . We both thought this is the best food we have ever eaten in a restaurant,it is superb, the flavours are amazing. The menu is varied with good portion sizes with sides as well, plus a lovely dessert menu . It is a small, intimate, cosy place and is run by Chris who does the cooking, and Caroline who is front of house, service was excellent and they are a very friendly couple. We just wish they are where we live!

We visited with our friends on a long weekend visit to the area with a total of 3 dogs. We were welcomed with a very friendly atmosphere, and the starters and mains were of excellent quality and very tasty. Then we come to the puddings. The puddings take the quality to another level. Not only do they look amazing but taste amazing as well. All at a fairly reasonable price for the standard, quality and quantity of food. Thank you very much. We all had a great evening. If I ever visit the area again, I would definitely revisit and recommend that others staying in the area do likewise. View menu

Me my husband booked this restaurant twice ahead of a weeks stay in Corwen, purely off the reviews. It did not disappoint. We booked the Sunday lunch which was one of the nicest we have ever had. The roast potatoes were to die for. The portions are very generous and So are the desserts, which there is a good choice. We had also booked for dinner on our last night and again the food was amazing. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The couple that run it are so friendly and welcoming. You definitely will not leave this restaurant hungry. We will definitely bd back when we are next in the area

During our recent holiday in Corwen, North Wales, we decided to dine at The Berwyn Restaurant based on the positive reviews we had seen on TripAdvisor. I booked a table for our group on the last night of our trip, and I was not disappointed. The restaurant had a cozy and intimate atmosphere, reminiscent of dining in someone's grandmother's living room. We felt instantly welcomed by the staff. The menu offered a perfect balance of options, and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. My husband particularly enjoyed the liver dish. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting the area. I would give it a 5-star rating.

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing £35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another £5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
