The food was cold and the chef very unhygienic, he picked up the turkey with his fingers and placed it on my plate. I complained to be told he didn’t have a fork???. View menu

As you can see I had the Sunday dinner, it was well presented and tasted great. The plate had a decent amount of meat compared to other local roasts. Service was fast and the building was clean and well presented. Hand sanitizer on each table was also a nice touch.

New to the area and my first meal here. I chose the Paella which unfortunately was very disappointing. Apart from about 6 prawns the dish had no other meat or fish no frozen peas. Far too much lemon flavour and all in all pretty tasteless. Staff very welcoming though seats in the eating area very hard and uncomfortable.

We all had a fantastic time with our Christmas meal at this restaurant. The starters, main courses, and desserts were all exceptional in both presentation and taste. I personally had the turkey with all the trimmings and the Baileys cheesecake, and they were delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout our meal. I made a reservation for six people to celebrate a 60th birthday tonight. Unfortunately, the menu that was displayed on the website was not the same as the menu we were given at the restaurant. We were expecting to see options like lasagna, fish, and seasonal pie, but none of these were available. This left everyone in our party feeling disappointed because they had already chosen what they wanted to eat. We had to settle for alternative options that didn't appeal to everyone. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Booked for Christmas dinner, tables not laid out nicely, no crackers, waited over 30 mins for starters and another 45 mins before mains arrived. Half the vegetables were on the plate and the rest in tureens. Had to ask for serving spoons. Food was cold, stuffing a hard ball, cauliflower still raw, some vegetables were mushy. Asked for spoons for dessert and waitress dumps a load of spoons next to one person to distribute. Two of the spoons were teaspoons. The place itself is cold in temperature and ambience. Food was cold. Serving staff need training.

I have uploaded more photos as I have visited again and my original review is still high, amazing service. original review absolutely brilliant, eating was amazing, free parking on the back and the dame that served us was brilliant, very polite and welcoming, I was super shocked that my meal with drinks and whisper for 2 was less than £40. the black ox is very cozy and very comfortable as they can see from photos. such a fabulous time I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for high quality food with a large service. 10 from 10 to the chef and personal. thank you.
