"After hearing that this venue had been recognised by the Good Food Guide, I decided to give it a try. The menu was very small and it was difficult to find anything that excited. Having chosen however, the starter of pork rillettes with olive oil toast, basically shredded pork with melba toast was fairly tasteless and served with two slices of thin brittle toast, which shattered on picking up (I thought we had seen the last of melba toast). The main course was the duck breast, which consisted of two small slices, in a sauce with a few potato slices, so thin as to be almost see through and two wedges of turnip and some dense greenery. The pudding of chocolate, Guiness and walnut was, I admit very nice and made up, somewhat, for the very poor starter and main courses. Overall, the meal was pretentious, underwhelming, disappointing and for, bread and olives, 1 starter, 2 soft drinks, 2 main courses and 2 puddings, at £100 (including a barely deserved 10% tip, not good value...with a decent bottle of wine and 2 starters, you would be looking at least about £140 for two. I can think of many venues in Bristol, that offer better choice, better food and better value, I will not be returning or recommending this venue to my friends."

Great food and service. A bit noisy, but highly recommend.

Went with friends after a hike around Blaise estate for a pint. Chef came out and gave us some free roasties and gravy. 10/10 best roast and gravy, legit insane gravy.

It's damn cold there, not very comfy and very expensive for what it is. Been going to this pub for 42 years in reality but hey ho, preferred it when it was saw dust and cobbles.

The food menu is very limited, so not much choice. The food was reasonable but over priced for the quality. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The place has a nice atmosphere and an excellent beer garden out the back. Overall a very good place to go for a few drinks, but not so good if you want a meal.

Our party of five enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant, which included excellent roast options, creative appetizers, and delectable desserts. One standout dish was the chocolate torte with orange sauce. Although parking on site was limited, there was ample parking available past the pub, so it shouldn't deter you from dining here.
