"Firstly, there is free parking not 100 metres away. Next there was a friendly greeting. The place was really clean, with rustic dark wood tables of varying sizes. The atmosphere was happy and friendly, just like the staff. We started with soup. A mistake as it was a main course portion. He naturally had Cullen Skink. Creamy, fishy potatoey- OOh. I had the special of the day, pea and ham. Gorgeous tasting, served with a big crunchy crouton in the middle. I have to remark on the bread, which really is my only negative. We got two half slices of white cut bread, and a little pat of very cold butter. Not my style really. For mains he went for dirty burger. A nice thick chilli burger with jalapeño, onion ring and salad stuff in a toasted bun. Served with a little basket of very moreish chips. I wanted to try something I'd not had before so went for buttermilk chicken on a waffle. We had homemade waffles at the hotel in Tombstone on our way to The OK Corral, and this one was nearly as good. The chicken was beautifully moist and the batter crispy and well seasoned. I ladled it with the maple syrup served with it- a mistake as it was too sweet for my taste, but hubby loved it. I wanted to stop at coffee, but him indoors approached the cake counter. Allways a mistake. He came back with two portions of millionaire's shorty. I tried hard but could only make it thru a third, but he finished mine as well. Lovely goey chocolatey fudgy biscuity calorie laden cake. Worth every inch on the hips! The coffee was maybe the best part of the meal, which is not a criticism of what we ate. The nicest coffee we have had, which includes those in US. And the price? with two bottles of fizzy water, less than £40"

"A very poor experience. We took my elderly mother in law for a late breakfast, travelling across from Fraserburgh some 45 miles. We liked the look and read the reviews, arriving before the 11.30 watershed as advised on your website. Despite arriving in time, the waitresses ignored us for some 10/15 minutes before telling us we were too late to order breakfast this was after taking an order from another table after 11.30. We were told to order a cake and a drink if we wanted anything at all. The waitress was not particularly apologetic and only 10 minutes later took a lunch order from another table (before midday another significant time). It cannot be outwith the capability of any cafe/restaurant to be able to serve soup and a roll without having to cook any food the soup could easily already be prepared and ready to serve. My wife has a catering background and was surprised at this. I would like to comment on your food but can only say that the biscuit looked dry; the scone was nice enough; the coffee was very poor and perhaps your staff might be equally disappointed had they been served a flat white with no crema or the cover of textured milk it might as well have been made form a cafetiere with warm milk added. Perhaps they've not visited other good barista cafes. Upon paying, the waitress asked if everything had been alright and looked surprised when I commented politely, becoming very defensive. After driving a round trip of some 90 miles, this was a very disappointing experience and we shall not bother again."
