"The Book and Bun provides a great choice of soups, snacks and paninis, and usually always with a little twist. But one thing in particular needs to be elevated here, this venue makes the best flat white coffee anywhere. I mean ANYWHERE. Forget wasting your...hard earned cash on horribly sweet syrupy nonsense from the Big guys coffee chains' that have, incidentally, become so big that you don't have the customer experience that you may be used to expecting from them any longer. Get on/in that bus/train/car or tardis and pay this lovely little place a visit. If you have the same tastes as mine (and believe me, I've consumed many a cup of coffee in my time, in commercial establishments up and down the Kingdom), you will come to appreciate the humble little coffee that looks smooth and light and fluffy when it arrives at your table with a tiny almond biscotti to accompany it. The coffee tastes very good indeed. And, if you think my ramblings are a little overdone, come and find out for yourself. Enough said."

Three dishes were unavailable on the menu with no explanations or alternative options provided. I was very disappointed with the lack of choices.

I enjoy going to The Book and Bun for a coffee and to sample the home baking. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, I even wrote a poem about it in my Amazon e-book called Salar (you can find it near the back). That's the...impression it has made on me.

The food was good, but we were still waiting for our dessert. The waiter brought us a menu, but never came back to take our order. We ordered drinks when we first arrived, but only two drinks were brought to our table. We asked twice for the other drink, but the rest of our party had already finished theirs. We have dined at this restaurant before and, overall, the food is good value. However, the service can be inconsistent.

Further to our last review of January, we called in today for a drink snack. The beef/horseradish/salad sandwich was the most tasty I have eaten in a very long time. I thoroughly enjoyed but for the time of late afternoon would have ordered...another!! Coffee good to. Ann also really liked the scone peppermint tea. All this in a quiet relaxing space with a book or magazine to read return or buy. Unique!! Staff really good to .

The food at this restaurant was very good, although it was not as hot as I would have preferred. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow. It took half an hour before our order was taken, and then there was another long wait. The waiter had to come back to check what our order was, so it seemed like it may have been forgotten. We ended up going to the bar a few times to get our own drinks because there was no one around to take our order. When we finished our main meal, it didn't look like we would be ordering dessert anytime soon, so we decided to leave at that point. It was a shame because we had dined here before and the service was good. Perhaps this was just a night where the restauran...
