"We ate here on a wet and windy Thursday in October We were greeted upon arrival by friendly staff. There was some confusion over where to eat upstairs in the restaurant or downstairs in the snug. We settled for the snug. Our drinks...were ordered and arrived quickly and tasted great however the food was lacking for the money. A jaw dropping for a jacket potatoe and for a baguette.....left a nasty taste. Our baguette even arrived without chips. The hot and spicey cajun chicken was lacking in chicken and potatoes lacked butter and were dry ! The food prices need to be more realistic for us to return....and it would have been nice for the log burner to have been lit to have made our visit a little more cosy."

Welcoming, friendly pub with great views. We didn’t plan on eating but enjoyed the views so much we stayed for food too. Nice fish and chips and steak. Will return on our next visit to Aberdovey. View menu

My stay at The Brit was incredible. It has recently been taken over by new management who were extremely friendly and very helpful. New the new renovation upstairs is really nice and the view out to see is incredible. I highly recommend staying and dining...in here when visiting Wales. I will be back!

Not long under new ownership! Not one to write reviews but these guys really deserve this! Honestly couldn’t fault anything, chilled restaurant, great service, amazing food, good selection of beers and reasonably priced! Credit to the waitress (think it was Alisha), running a full restaurant...by herself and still being so happy and helpful Definitely be back soon!

Great to see the old Brit stepping forwards with the new owners. They have done a sympathetic refurb on the snug that makes it a pleasure to sit and feel part of the pub. formally it had been a bit emotionally cold' and remote. Arrived...in Aberdyfi for a visit to find the work nearly done and sat at the end of the bar in there sipping wine from the new list. Good luck for the New Year. View menu

We were first time visitors to Aberdovey last weekend and couldn’t have been made more welcome by the team at The Britannia. The whole experience was great fun and although we would pick out Stuart and Alecia (hope we’ve spelt those correctly it was obvious...that the business is very much a ‘Team Game’ so thank you all. The restaurant is excellent and whether you’re vegetarian or not, check out the Chiili Bean Pie it’s delicious. Thanks again and see you all again soon.

What a relief. The Brit has stopped trying to be a family food destination and become a proper Pub again. Not before time. Good service, decent ales, Pub food (often home made) and a limit on those little darlings squealing running riot being ignored...by their parents. Lots of wet sandy dogs, but all friendly. The Staff are chatty and full of character, the Restaurant is now adults only in the evenings with a great Wine list, good choice of Welsh steaks well cooked and all in a stylish but relaxed atmosphere. A sanctuary for those visiting Aberdovey without young children. Six Nations on this weekend we'll be there!
