"I was on a stroll through Buxton on a wet and cold weekend afternoon and encountered this place – which showed much promise. Alas a promise unfulfilled. We ordered only hot drinks and puddings. Drinks; good, puddings dry – and cold lumpy custard. In what world are hot winter puddings sold with refrigerated custard. Price was a little steep, but could have been justified if the custard had at least taken a trip via the microwave. There is surely a reasonable expectation that custard would be hot – and if not tell your customers, Please. After all, it must have been hot once!"

This is a lovely little tea room with some really unusual product to try. Staff are friendly and helpful and a really enjoyable atmosphere.

Simple, fresh food, we had 1/2 a steak and Stilton pie and half a Buxton pudding, the latter a real joy for crumble lovers. Decent coffee and nice staff. Good for light lunch. Simon Hanley 07828417512

On the day that I visited I was kept waiting at the counter for almost 15 minutes while staff stood around seemingly unaware of the queue forming to be served. I waited to order some drinks and to pay for goodies I had picked up... View menu

Friendly staff and very nice (little) room to eat in. The ‘tasting menu’ is actually just a rather limited cafe menu, which is fair enough as it’s only a tiny place. Ordered sandwiches, but very disappointed with choice, price, size and quality! Won’t be returning.

I absolutely adored this hidden gem. The Buxton pudding with chilled vanilla custard was fantastic (I was a bit skeptical about cold custard, but it was delightful). The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in Buxton.

I love desserts, so I recommended this restaurant to my friends. We stopped by the small shop area before finding a table to have a drink. I couldn't resist trying the 'Buxton Pudding with our Special Real Vanilla Custard,' which was deliciously crumbly. The atmosphere was charming and unique! View menu

The friendly staff at Hargreaves recommended the Pudding Emporium to us for coffee beans. The emporium offers a wide variety of products, from puddings to homeware to cards, and also has a cozy area for enjoying coffee and cakes. It's a hidden gem in Buxton, definitely worth a visit. Special thanks to Clare and Karen for their excellent and welcoming service. It was a pleasure meeting you both!

Having seen the the Hairy Bikers visit to Buxton we were really excited to try a Buxton pudding and made a special trip. The location details on Trip Advisor are out of date so we tracked them to Hardwick Street via Facebook. Despite being advertised as open on a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm in March, they weren’t. Also no information as to when they’ll reopen. I hope it’s not anything serious that’s prevented the shop from opening. We left Buxton without a taste of your pudding: .
