"We had a table booked for a late lunch on a Sunday and were disappointed there was no roast option on the Specials board. The food we did have was excellent and it’s a great family and dog friendly pub restaurant in a wonderful setting. Service was very slow and lacking any sort of interest or attention when we visited the place seemed to be staffed with a bunch of half asleep teenagers. Maybe things will pick up once we are into the busier season!"

"I hadn't eaten here for a few years, but the food had always been good in the past so I decided to ignore this year's negative reviews. Big mistake this place now does average pub food at high prices e.g. £22 for a medium sized fish pie. Wine list is now very restricted. Service wasn't great either they brought out the fish pies at the same time as the shared starters, contrary to our instructions the manager seemed to insist that this was our mistake and therefore our problem! Still no bookings taken but we just about managed to find a table in the back dining room at 12:30 on a Sunday. It must remain popular only because it's one of only 2 pubs in Walberswick, but I won't be back."

"We last ate here in March 2020, just before the pandemic hit. So, we returned with my OH, my nephew, his partner, their 7 week old sproglett and puppy in tow. We were seated in one of the outdoor 'pods ', complete with heating/air conditioning. It was very toasty and a little cosy for us all. We chose the battered fish (IT WAS HUGE! and chips, and I had the fresh crab, samphire salad, chips etc. It was delicious. Nice fresh samphire (not at all 'woody ' as it can be sometimes and delicious fresh crab. Ham, egg and chips was also eaten and enjoyed. The food was delicious, the coffee delicious, the 'pod ' perfect, overall a really lovely lunch. The staff were very accommodating, leaving us 'alone ' for feeding time. Of course we 'll be back!"

"Excellent takeaway fish and chips served with lemon quarter and parsley trim. Small room at the street front with counters and chairs to eat the takeaway meal if there is space available. Reasonable prices for the quality. Better in my view that fish and chips down the road in Aldeburgh. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch"

I have been a regular customer for years and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location in the old harbor, offering breathtaking views that have remained unchanged for decades. It is a hidden gem that is definitely worth seeking out."
