"We visit Southwold half a dozen times a year with the sole purpose of time on the beach and the promise of some decent fish and chips … on this occasion though and to be fair the last couple of times it’s just been really very average at best. The chips were decent and the team are lovely but the batter has really gone down hill. It was soggy and cloying and just not good at all. Such a shame as it used to be the main attraction but gone done hill in 2023. Won’t be back in a hurry as we can get bad fish chips without the 1.5hr journey . Come on Guy’s let’s get back to former glory please."

Yet again fantastic fish and chips. My wife had rock and chips I had the cod, both with chip and a gherkin staff very friendly.

Came here on Christmas Eve, food was tasty, fresh and hot, decent pot of curry sauce, good portion, friendly staff. Not much more to say really.

Stopped for lunch. So glad we did m Huge portion, had scampi, hubby had cod and chips just over£21.00. Nice place quick service still busy for a wonter morning

This place is extremely popular and busy. We were looking forward to something special, but in the end the food was pretty ordinary. We had better fish and chips at The Red Lion pub.

The food served looked lovely, but we were very disappointed that there was nothing we could eat, not even the chips. The outdoor seating area wasn’t a no smoking area, which maybe it should be.

Sorrow but fish was awful. Grey and tough, instead of white and fluffy. Tasted offish. Chips ok. Even bread roll was stale. Expected a lot better as have been before and was ok. Really dissapointed. View menu

Ordered 2 x Cod and mushy peas Cod was so small though it was a child’s portion Batter was soggy Mushy peas were good We have had them from here many times before.. usually good For the price they charge they should be exceptional every time

Been many times and still love it. Fish and chips that you don’t regret when you’ve finished! Tasty, meaty fish, good batter and lovely thick chips. Not at all fatty and greasy. You always have to wait but that’s because it’s so popular which is a good thing.
