"booked Sunday dinner per week in advance. for Sunday dinner at 15.00 for two adults and two children. we did not come to welcome, simply said: "Your table was set up in the other room. the manager was not received coming and said he believed we had ordered for four adults. I told him I was very clear it was for two adult and two children when I booked. we asked to see the menu and was recommended it was offered only Sunday evening dinner. I asked what the vegetarian option was that he told me we had to order in advance and that would not be available today. there were no prizes on the table for Sunday roasts or possibilities of puddings published and the website was down today before they arrive to see themselves on menu or prices. we asked us to get away from billard table had just tied up children only 3 years old was only examined as had never seen before, but we honored his question and children never touched it during our visit. in the room children has learned to play with dad. manager commented it was glass, but was assured by my man that they were treated with respect, I would not harm his table and continue playing chest. not sure he was very satisfied with his answer. ordered drinks and the personal use left on the bar. many asked if the drinks belong to us were wandered away. husband has the drinks of the bar. the drink was a good size and tasted well from an alcoholic drink. the food arrived quickly and was a good part. unfortunately my personal opinion was that it was precooked and how tante bettys bratkartoffeln tasted and veg heated by a microwave. lukewarm food. we asked for bark for the children and got chickens, but I don't have the manager's attention. my little one asked where her bark was on her teller. young bar staff who had no idea what they did the plates were removed, we were not offered pudding at any stage. the bill for two adult and a child meal was and drinks were about £40. £14 any adult meal. and £3,50 for any kinder meal. would be the order pudding, but was not offered so that we never asked to see menu or options. for our family we would not visit in the future for a meal again. we paid are bills and tried to say goodbye and thank them for eating, but was not aware so left the building. parking was good for the small pub. the pub itself was very clean and cozy with open fire and lots of laughing from locals in the other room."

Excellent local boozer, the last of its kind in the area. Great people, great food, great service. Well to the team for a fantastic afternoon.

Had a lovely dinner with 3 friends. We had 2 lamb shanks, 1 roast and 1 steak and ale pie all were fabulous. Friendly place, quite quirky, would definitely return.

we had great hopes, but unfortunately very disappointed. both steaks were cooked and tasted. the renter had no interest in making the dinge right, simply argued that it was fresh so that could not be gone. the garden was large and pretty, but a smell of...septic tank was unpleasant. we really wanted to stay locally, but we won't go back.

There is always a friendly welcome from both Management Carl Clare and their staff, The beer is managed well and as for the Food it is well cooked, presented, served well at a very reasonable price. There is a Tuesday Burger Night Thursday...Steak Night (very reasonably priced). I suggest you look on their website for details. The Castle Of Comfort is well worth a visit.

four of us went to Sunday. no reception, simply said: "You are table in the corner." No one told us we'd order food in cash. finally went and ordered. huge plate of well over boiled vegetables, lukewarm or cold. meat, cold yorkshire pudding. only the roasted potatoes were hot! then our bill was wrong and we were charged for the next tables dessert! young bar staff who had no idea what they did and no intentional would go no longer

Had a lovely lunch here with my mum and dad and daughter. The steak was delicious, with really good chips, and the salad and coleslaw was lovely and fresh. My dad said his burger was really tasty too. The garden is really well kept with...lots of lovely touches such as indian wooden carvings on the decking and hanging baskets everywhere . All made for a lovely trip out, would thoroughly recommend. The price was very reasonable too! Mum kept saying how nice they had made the place, and my mum is a very fussy lady!!

Went here today for my sons 15th birthday lunch as it’s the only place in the area that does a bbq. Lovely big garden lots of space sadly that was the only good thing. We ordered at 1.30 and ate at 3. Our 8 year...old was completely hangry by this point. It was not packed so should not have taken that long. The menu was on a board with no prices and no one seems to know what anything cost. We ordered a hot dog for my eldest which I thought would be nice butchers sausages it was a frankfurter in an oversized bun. He wouldn’t touch the ketchup as it wa son a Heinz bottle but was very watery and obviously now Heinz. I had a Mexican burger which i had hoped would be a nice beef burger with salsa...
