ate in restaurant 5 times and ordered a few takeaways and eating was always great. the restaurant itself is beautiful, but could be illuminated better. the personal is friendly and the prices are average. View menu

Indian ocean in theydon is much better. Staff are hit and miss some are just average but the younger staff are rude. Used to come to the coriander every week with family, re-visited recently after a year but disappointed and wont be going back. Food is a 6/10 at absolute best. We were regular customers up until we left Buckhurst Hill in 2011. We returned for a meal on Saturday night and are happy to say the food is still excellent, the service is great and the room has been refurbished to a very high standard since we left. I highly recommend the Bangladeshi fish curries. Not too spicy and loads of flavour. We definitely won't be leaving it another dozen years until we return! Living in Buckhurst Hill for 10 years, we regularly visited The Coriander. Finding ourselves in the area last weekend after leaving in 2011, we took the opportunity to visit The Coriander on Saturday night. So pleased we did. The food was delicious as we remember, service was great, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has undergone a refurbishment since we were last there, which adds to the lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed the Fish Rogan, one of the Bangladeshi specials, which was full of flavour but not too spicy. Would definitely recommend The Coriander. We came in and was sat exactly at 9pm on a sunday. Their online closing time says 10:30 but was told that we had to hurry up since they closed at 10 instead. We wasnt given a minute to think about what we wanted and was asked for drinks and starters before we even opened the menu. Not a few seconds later someone else came over and said that we had to order mains. Our order was completely rushed and we had countless interruptions throughout our meal from staff taking everything they could off of our table. The meal was uncomfortable and staff were constantly staring and standing directly next to the table. Overall we were in and out in less than 40 minutes and was a terrible experience. We've...
