"We stayed here as a family of four. I chose it because it was close to Longleat where we had visited for the day and because the family room included two single beds for the children. We received a warm welcome on arrival. The staff were very chatty with our girls and we were shown to our room. The room was a good size for the 4 of us. Tea and coffee was available but the only tempting thing about it was the Lotus biscuits. The en-suite bathroom was disappointing. It was really quite grubby and in need of a deep clean. A renovation wouldn’t go amiss. The breakfast was excellent! I had the full English and asked for eggs, bacon and sausages to be well done which they were. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had in a while. Overall the place served its purpose as a place to sleep for the night but I wouldn’t stay here again."

Stayed in family room prior to trip to longleat and Center parcs. Really friendly welcome and fabulous breakfast. Tom the manager was the perfect host.

Went along to the Frome Jazz club evening (once a month) and had dinner there at the same time. Good variety of well cooked meals including a good variety of vegetarian dishes

the decor is quite out dated, wobbly chairs. food is really average, i had a veggie burger (not much else for veggies! and it was okay, not fantastic but defo edible. Parking is a bit of a hassle, cart park is insanely narrow

We had a lovely meal here to celebrate Mother’s Day with family. The menu was great and the food fantastic and not over priced. There was a lovely atmosphere in the pub. We weren’t rushed at all and the service was spot on. Thank you for a lovely meal. We will be back

The staff were brilliant, great service, great setting great wine and cocktail but what a shame about the food. Pizza came out white, barely warm and side salad consisted of leaves...thats it!...disappointing to say the least for the price. Won't eat there again. Looks much better than it taists.

Had dinner here. Very nice. I had a caramelised onion and goats cheese tart with a hefty salad garnish and Darren had breaded camembert also with a hefty salad. These we just the starters! Darren had a spicy breaded chicken and I had homemade fish and chips. So much food we couldn't finish. But very very nice and if you're with the gourmet club you get two meals for thr price of one.

A family room for three adults was perfect, a good bathroom, parking onsite and a really good local breakfast awaited us at a reasonable price. Half a mile from the Cheese Grain made it the perfect place for us to stay after seeing a gig. The only comments are that the room was very cold and took the provided heater a fair bit of time to warm it up, and the kettle is small for a family room...although we do like our tea. One disappointment was that no food was available when we got there as the chef had been given the night off, but halfway down the hill towards the town centre, tucked away down an alley on the left, is the Old Bath Arms, which is worth a visit!
