Lovely village pub, great cask ales, beautifully kept and some amazing bar snacks. We tried the Black pudding scotch eggs, pork pies and salami and all three were superb.

"After someone telling me that you can order your fish chips and eat them in the pub located next door, I had to see it for myself. We arrived to the chip shop to discover a queue but we were quickly served by a polite young man who took our order, between the four of us we ordered a varied choice, I had the cod chips, my wife had steak ale pie chips, my brother had scampi, and his partner had a vegetable spring roll and shared chips with my brother. We was informed of a small wait due to being busy and the fact the food is cooked fresh to order, but we didn't mind as we were eating in the pub and we knew we would have several drinks. After minutes, our meals arrived by a shy young girl. Our meals was served uniquely in baskets covered by foil to keep it hot.My wife liked the fact that we was supplied lemon fresh hand wipes which we have never known a chip shop do before, it was a nice touch. After a few mouthfuls of our meals, we were in heaven, the fish was cooked to perfection with crispy batter and moist fish, my wife was loving her pie as it was deep filled, my brother soon ate his scampi while his partner was surprised on how large the spring roll was.All in all, we throughly enjoyed our meal and drinks and what a fantastic way for two businesses to help each other out.We are now planning on visiting both establishments again, hopefully soon but my brother lives in Devon.Keep up the good work and see you again soon."

"On a beautiful Tuesday in August, my mother, our friend, and I decided to go out for a meal. In this area, not everything is open on weekdays for lunch, so I called to see if they were serving, having been there a couple of years ago. I didn't realize that the restaurant is now under different management, but after a quick search on Tripadvisor, the reviews looked good, so we made a reservation for 1pm and headed over. We were greeted by Amy, a lovely lady behind the bar. She was very friendly and couldn't do enough to help (thank you, Amy!). We then sat in the beer garden and chose our meals. We all decided on the two-course £10 menu. My mother went for the ham and potatoes, our friend chose the cod and chips, and I, being more health-conscious as I've been trying to lose weight, asked if I could possibly have the pear and blue cheese salad on the starter menu, but as a main course? Andy was happy to accommodate (thank you, Andy!). Our meals came out, brought by Lydia, who was a cheerful and friendly person and also said it was no trouble to make the salad for me (thank you, Lydia!). I was very grateful, as anyone who has dieted and eaten out will surely understand! Anyway, everything was absolutely delicious! Each meal was well presented and smelled wonderful, and I can honestly say it tasted as good as it looked! 3 very happy people. For dessert, the ladies had Eton mess, and Andy kindly made me a fruit salad with strawberries, pineapples, and pears! It wasn't on the menu, but he allowed me to have 'pud' with the others! Everything was truly wonderful and I can only say good things. We are determined to return as soon as possible to try the evening menu, which looks lovely. Andy (the chef) came out to chat with us after our meal and he was very enthusiastic and passionate about his food, which was really nice to see. He clearly cares a lot about what he serves. Highly recommended!"
