"We went for Sunday lunch. There were 3 of us and we all had the delicious, and beautifully cooked roast beef. After this we had rhubarb fool and apple and blackberry crumble which again was delicious. Our only gripe was that the tap water they served in a jug (we also bought drinks) was undrinkable as it tasted so strongly of chlorine. This was not a major problem but next time we visit there I will order bottled water. Otherwise we will certainly go there again and enjoy their great food and relaxing ambience."

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. It never fails to please and the service was great; almost as good as the food which was delicious.

Entrance to restaurant very poor down narrow hallway past the toilets. Dining room lacking character and appeal appearing tired in appearance, needing an overhaul. Food overpriced and not very good quality. Need to concentrate on basics before proceeding to more complicated menu items.

I cannot complete this review accurately as we were unable to dine at this restaurant as it was not open! The website did not say they were closed on a Monday. There are boards advertising daily opening in the town. Open table accepted confirmed our booking for Monday 20th November. A total disaster

Heavens, I 've been here so many times. But not so much recently, as have either been away or too busy. But needing somewhere close-by for dinner for a friend who is not very mobile, The Dining Room was the obvious choice, being only about 200 yards from us. But would it have kept up its standards over the summer? The answer, quite definitely, was yes . Well done, Grant. You have a great staff.
