"The food and service were both excellent. As vegans, we had mentioned during our reservation that we preferred to be seated away from other diners who consume animal products. Unfortunately, even though there were many other tables available, we were placed between two tables of meat-eaters. If we hadn't had to see others eating animal products all around us, our experience would have been perfect."

Lovely brunch in a stunning location overlooking Ely cathedral, we all loved the welcome and service we received. View menu

Food was good but nothing exceptional. Main courses could have come out hotter and restaurant was a bit drafty. Service was good.

Had the Christmas lunch! It was all beautifully cooked and presented, although the gravy a bit thin , last years was so good, the pudding was extremely tasty and the custard , just the right amount and light but tasty

The food was enjoyable, and the staff was very friendly. However, the dining room does appear somewhat worn, and considering it positions itself as a more upscale restaurant, I would have expected a nicely set table with a tablecloth. View menu

A beautiful venue with a lovely atmosphere and very friendly and professional staff. We were a little bit disappointed by the food. We both had steaks which were nice, but the chips let the meal down a little and the sauces were not great to be honest. We would certainly go back and try another dish in the future however.

On Tuesday, January 3rd, we had a delightful lunch at The Poet's House to celebrate my partner's birthday. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The dining room is tastefully decorated—modern yet simple, creating a cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were just right. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

"a great place in ely. I felt instantly from friendly staff who sit in a beautiful table in the corner, I was so perfect on my own to get fucked away, but I had a good look at everything that went on to keep me occupied. the place is not what I would call instagrammble. they will not find young fashionable people here and it is better for it. it is beautifully decorated, crisp and fresh and feels inviting, more like visiting a friendly house than a stuffy restaurant. the visitors are here to enjoy their evenings with good food and friends, not to make pictures for likes. I enjoyed my bratpork with sweetness. very moist with a lot of crispy cracks. also the last of the heavy, which is always a care in the south. a nice choice. my chocolate mousse was amazing, hadn't had one since brunette. the charges too. with a beautiful coffee. the only thing we left was the starter. only a handful of pouched salad with some tiny pieces of goat cheese and two walnuts. there was a vague drizzling of an art dressing. certainly not worth the price, initially very leave. but everything else was wonderful, plus the suppenings I saw going into other tables looked out and tasted tasty. I must mention the break of the evening. I never felt rushed, everyone had a good break in between, but not as long as I wait. I hate these days, how everything is so eager, pure and out. it was nice to relax and enjoy my food and wine. thanks to many for a real culinary experience. Hopefully if I'm in the opposite I'll visit again and friends this time."
