Stayed here 2x nights on work business. Hotel quiet comfortable. We ate both nights in restaurant food was superb. Breakfast excellent too. The staff were very friendly heplfull. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4

Have a monthly meeting with a charity at this hotel. Coffee shop staff are so friendly and attentive. Must mention Dylan, Sarah, Lennon and Arryanna. They are great ambassadors for the company. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury

This was not a good experience. My friend and I came in for a coffee and scone/soup. The coffees were cold and while the soup was okay, the scone was so hard we could not get a knife to go through it. No one has checked if everything is okay (still waiting 20 minutes later). 30 minutes later finally got attention. We were advised scone had been in fridge and over heated in microwave. We received a replacement, we asked for more coffees and a knife. We were forgotten about again and had to again request a knife.

The Gailes was the venue for a retirement meal last night for one of my teaching colleagues. I was blown away when I saw the table set up in the MacAllan Suite. The easy access to the bar, the comfortable surroundings and attentive staff made the night perfect. A special thank you to Lennon and his team for looking after us so well, even bringing a speaker and microphone out for us to have some extra fun as the evening went on! Thanks so much. We will definitely consider using the Gailes for any other function in the future.

Spa Day with girlfriends- absolutely amazing. Gorgeous place, all cosy and calm and lush. Feels private and not over busy. Thermal room is very relaxing and outside area is fab even in the winter cold. Staff were all fantastic, you feel very well looked after. My treatments were the best I have had in a very long time. My therapists manner and attention to detail was perfect and the products are divine. I felt so chilled out during and after. You are taken to the most chilled out room afterwards to relax and I can honestly say the whole day was possibly the best spa experience we’ve had in Scotland so far and we have been trying a good few out. Highly recommend.

First of all our booking for a surprise party was lost. A lot of confusion as to what restaurant was booked despite it being a booking on 25th September for the gailes for nine people. Service was slow. One of our guests has a severe pulse allergy which causes anaphylaxis and hospitalisation. Yet despite disclosing this at the booking and again at the table when ordering she still was given a meal topped with pea shoots which are all part of the pulse family. As this is a dangerous situation for her perhaps your kitchen staff need a refresher on food allergies as this could have been a life threatening situation had it not been spotted at the table by another guest. We absolutely loved it. After a poor and upsetting experience a while ago at another similar hotel in Ayrshire my wife was anxious about getting away again. We don't get away often so I was keen for things to go well. I spoke to staff while booking about certain requirements and they sure did deliver. They could not have been nicer, more understanding or helpful without judgement or complaint. They were absolutely amazing. The room was spotlessly clean and comfy. Flawless. Food both dinner and breakfast was excellent and again, the staff handled our needs with utmost care and attention. We are so grateful and came away determined to return. Best day of my life having our wedding here. From initially being shown round the venue, to booking and planning, the full team at the Gailes were the most attentive, enthusiastic and friendly hospitality team I've ever dealt with. A special thanks to Kathleen who walked us through every step of the process and advised us on anything we were unsure of. Our every request was made possible by her, and on the wedding day she put in a phenomenal effort. Aaron was also present on the day and when we were checking out, and is a genuinely great guy, helping us with any on the day requests and as we were packing up. Arrived at hotel for my belated birthday spa massage night. Been to restaurant quite a few times so know what it’s like here. Lovely place and nice scenery. Only thing is the thermal suite and spa isn’t connected to the hotel and restaurant, which in cold or raining weather really isn’t good at all. It should have a covered corridor from the elements to here and back, especially in Scotland. So, when we got to the spa and thermal suite, prompt, professional and friendly service. Never received petit flour and waited a while for hot chocolate and coffee. Managed to get 1 person spending time in thermal suite between coffee and massage time.
