"Worst experience I’ve ever had in a chippy, only ordered 2 plain chips, was left waiting for 15 minutes, when I asked for a refund the server was rude, dismissive and told me “that’s how long it takes chips to cook” when I have worked in many takeaways and never have I taken 15 minutes to cook one portion of chips, half the staff standing around talking eating ice cream not doing anything when the resteraunt was half full. Anybody could’ve been preparing or half cooking another batch of chips but it seemed like they were cooking each order one at a time, the cashier then slammed my bag of chips down on the counter with a dirty look, I’ll not be back it was the worst experience I’ve ever gone through just for two sub-par chips, I’d have been better off making my own in the house, it’d be less hassle and nicer too."

The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The fish and chips were decent but a bit pricey. My daughter ordered the hot dog, which turned out to be just a bland sausage in a somewhat stale hot dog bun. It was a bit underwhelming.

Fish and chip takeaway and restaurant with ice-cream parlour too. Food was reasonable with good portions. Really nice, juicy burger with all the trimmings well worth ordering. Service functional. Regret not ordering the fish and chip dinner so will have to go back

The Genoa is an all-time classic restaurant, takeaway, and ice cream parlour. I just had 3 fish suppers for takeaway. They were delicious and satisfying. The fish tasted juicy and fresh and was fried to perfection. (They have a dedicated fish-fryer! The chips were so traditional that nobody left even a crumb behind. The front line staff were cheerful and chatty, and the customer area was warm. Loved it...
