"Impossible to get through on the telephone to book a table . Tried numerous times during the week. The system then automatically redirects you to a very painful booking on telephone system where you elect a time set in 15 min slots. You chose a slot, it then says nope busy try another, so you try another and 5 goes later it says nope you can’t have that time. As a busy person I found the whole experience a total waste of my time and won’t be trying to book again. It’s a shame as the food is lovely at The Fox and have been several times over the years, but I’m sorry unless you change the **** booking system and start answering the phone we won’t be going again for the forseable. My time is too precious than to waste on the booking system or trying to get a response from a pub.. a shame."

"The George Inn is like a fairytale brought to reality! This pub captures everything you would expect from books and tales. The atmosphere is truly magical, with cozy open fireplaces that make you feel right at home. The staff go above and beyond, offering friendly and attentive service. To add to the enchantment, there was a fantastic live band performing in the evening, creating a perfect ambiance. Even the presence of a friendly dog wandering around added to the charm. An incredible experience – a must-visit! Five stars all around!"

"we had an amazing vegan dinner in the krone upton including hummus, flatbreads, sour teigbrot and delicious oliven to begin and an incredible vegan roast full of wonderful new aromas and a beautiful rhabarbpudding to finish, boiled all different possibilities, it was completely new and exciting and really got the taste bud tinglingling. will definitely come back, soon we felt like a license with the customer service"

"I really wanted to be writing a glowing review, the Hatchet Inn is in an idyllic setting, surrounded by beautiful lush gardens, plenty of seating, and a sandpit for the kids though the spiky weeds do need removing! . Inside is full of antique beams and charming artefacts. We'd had drinks a while back here and wanting to book somewhere special for a long awaited post lockdown meal with my mother and son, I chose this place, and I've regretted it sadly since. Upon arrival, we received an indifferent welcome but requested a highchair which arrived a few minutes later.The drinks were good though £4.80 for a shandy is a bit steep. The biggest problem was the children's meals my sons was ridiculously small for the price £7.25 and the cottage pie lacked any meat, after being unable to flag down the waitresses attention I took it back to the bar and asked for a replacement due to the fact it was basically 3 tablespoons of mash and a zillion peas. 25 mins later with no apology it was plonked down, my son was actually crying by this point he was so hungry and refusing my meal in the meantime. It really didn't look any different except it was served in one of those shallow creme brulee style dishes. We had to rapidly decant it and fan it with a menu so that he could eat it. He even ate the peas which showed how hungry he was!No one bothered to come and check at any point if it was okay, when I paid up the waitress afterwards asked if it was okay and I said no, the portions really are not acceptable and need reviewing she just kinda shrugged her shoulders.My fish pie was not the best, under seasoned with a mix of fish, some better than others. Despite requesting both main dishes salads to not come with onion, they of course did and we had to pick it off. The waiter/ barman who delivered the meals did note it said on the order no onion too. No condiments offered. No guidance on how to order more drinks in these covid times most places we have visited only offer table service, so we didn't bother getting anything else.I really want to support our pubs post lockdown but this will not be one of them. A real disappointment sadly and we will not be returning."

"Had phoned booked a table for four the week before, as a farewell dinner with friends before moving. You can imagine our disappointment on arrival to be told that it was the chef's night off and they had no trace of a booking. As our table was booked for 8pm, there was little chance that we could travel to another restaurant in time to order some food. The waitress was very apologetic and said they could cook a pizza or scampi and chips, so that was our choice of menu for the night. I had always thought the pizza's were freshly made , but as there was no chef I guess they are premade/ frozen . There's not much to say about scampi and chips, and the pizza was good, but would be nice is it came with something i.e. salad or a side. We decided to have dessert and the pancakes and cheesecake were good. The staff were friendly and very apologetic and even put extra logs on the fire so we could sit in the main restaurant. Came to £78 for four of us for a two course dinner and a round of drinks mainly soft drinks) which I thought for what you got was a little expensive.However it was a disappointing experience due to the mix up in the booking and lack of menu choice, and maybe something like a free drink or even a portion of chips might have made a nice gesture."
