"very beautiful looking and in a great location put our expectations high. large selection of options for non-meat eaters, was that eating disappointed. the cutlery had much too much edgy and tasted terrible, with the consistency of baby food. the fig dolcelatte roast was tasteless and a very small part, veggies were cooked and cold until they arrived, but the yorkshire pudding was great. I can highly recommend the seabass, avoid the nourish bowl it was dry and inconspicuous. the non vegetarian options looked great, but the veg options let us be very disappointed, what was a real scandal, because the place had promised so much and was recommended by our son who recently moved into the opposite and had a Fab-Mahl experienced her earlier. I can't see that we're going back sadly, maybe this was a busy day, but even so they should do better than that. We did not mention this at the time because we did not want to embarrass our son who recommended it."

We felt welcomed and well looked after, and the food was delicious and well priced, with a great varied Menu. We were lucky enough to sit in the lovely back garden as it was a sunny day, but the interior of this Pub is so lovely too… and everything was very clean. We will be recommending the Golden Heart to all our friends.

Friendly staff and delicious food. It was just a shame that the service was incredibly slow and we waited nearly an hour for the two starters and two children’s meals to come out. Those not having a starter had to wait even longer before they got to eat! Whilst we weren’t in a huge rush, we hadn’t planned on spending two and a half hours at the pub for lunch.

The food has recently changed at this restaurant, and the quality is not great. The pizza I ordered was bland, with only one small piece of cheese on the entire pizza. I was very disappointed. My guest usually enjoys the fish and chips there, but this time it was not up to the usual standard. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was not satisfactory, and I do not plan on returning anytime soon. View menu

eating has changed, not very good. the pizza I ordered was blande and although only a margarita there was 1 spodge cheese on the whole pizza. very disappointing. my gas has in the regular fish and chips there and loves it. it just wasn't the same caliber. we are regulars and I did to them that I did not enjoy the pizza.no feedback at all. the staff was friendly and helpful, but I fear that eating was not great and I will not be in a hurry to return.

The restaurant had a lovely ambiance and was conveniently located, which initially raised our expectations. However, we were disappointed by the food offerings for non-meat eaters. The vegetable bake was too sour and tasted unpleasant, resembling baby food in texture. The Fig Dolcelatte roast lacked flavor and was served in a small portion with overcooked, cold vegetables. The yorkshire pudding was a highlight though. The sea bass was a standout dish, while the Nourish Bowl was dry and unappetizing. Despite great non-vegetarian options, the veg choices left us dissatisfied. Our son, who recently moved to the area, had previously enjoyed a meal there and recommended it to us. Unfortunately, w...

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
