"I live local in a large housing complex and The Hand Racket is my local which me and friends use regularly. We all agree that we really enjoy the welcom and efficiency of the great polite staff who will do their best to give you the service anybody would wish for . Mick is the manager there, and he is a good boss and the staff (To many to mention by name) work as a great team. The food is excellent and theres always something on the menu that will take your fancy. In addition to this , the promotion spells when they do like 2 for 1 are absolutely a winner and Green King change them periodically, Its a must. Then if you go on the live music nights the atmosphere is great fun. So , if you and friends are looking for a pub in Wimbledon , give it a try you will see what I mean . I would also like to take this oppertunity to THANK ALL the staff for always working hard and not only for their excellent service but friendship Ive got with the team ,, Well done you guys .. No doubt I will see you soon .. Green King you need to send the staff some kind of recognition to their service they provide , that would be a good will gesture on your behalf which the staff well deserve , Gary Mc"

It was busy and all the things you'd have expected from a night out in Wimbledon. However the kind nature of those behind the bar was excellent. Definitely a pub I will return to.

Great customer service. Kindly allowed me a glass of water and to use the toilet for free when I needed it. Good selection of cask beers best I’ve seen in Wimbledon and 10% off for CAMRA members.Great location just near Wimbledon stations what’s not to like?

Returned to the Hand after 15 years. Wow I will be back. Friendly staff, lovely pub. Nicole behind the bar was so lovely and helpful. Nothing was too much. She went above and beyond to welcome us. Service like this is very rare today. Worth a visit and say hi to the staff. Thank you View menu

Used this pub many times for a quick lunch and always been ok and food very nice. Today after tennis popped in and ordered late lunch. Firstly the fish cakes with rocket salad came with no rocket and no explanation. When we asked said they had run out. The triple cooked chips had been cooked just once, we explained and the attendee said they were triple cooked, unfortunately for him we knew they weren’t, there was no apology. Not enough serviettes and had to ask for another one. Food didn’t come out all together. Not a good experience this time and food not up to standards it has always been in the past. No mention of any compensation for the salad not being as advertised. Will probably try...

Came to Wimbledon a few months ago for the first time in many years and stopped here for a rest a wine before heading home. The pub was clean and welcoming and the staff very friendly and quick to serve. The wine we ordered was reasonably priced and was of good quality. Whilst we didn’t order anything to eat, looking at the menu, there is a good choice and again the prices seem reasonable. There happened to be a gentleman in there who was very intoxicated, barely functioning and was clearly in need of help. Whom I assume to be a manager came and I was so impressed at how he dealt with the situation. He treated the man with kindness, concern, respect and patience. He managed to contact a pers...

"only at chez bruce ate, because our original choice to the jubilee dinner (thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice after we had already booked our hotel: in wandsworth. instead of canceling the whole trip to london, I decided to try cb and see if they could fit us as they were only about 30 minutes away from our hotel. it was a Tuesday night when we were able to get in. I have bruce poole cookbook so was very excited to taste the restaurant and eating was really good. very similar to la trumpet in chiswick and I think they share. my starter of enoki mushroom salad with romaine, rump and comte was enormous. my cousin also thought her makrelenrillettes were first class. we have rejoined our head; I choose the hain that was outstanding again. my cousin complained that her pork was too much meat and not enough of something else. she was again on board with the dessert of white chocolate jerk and rusty ice cream. I had the cheeseboard that was good, but I had better. good wine list, with a little decent half bottle. However, the bottle was ordered by pomerol i was not available, but the sommelier hit an alternative, cheaper bottle that was very good. brot was very nice. service was okay, not great. there were some stretch before us to pour wein, to take plates that were both my cousin and I annoyed. but this little grip aside, I thought £200 without wein was pretty good."
