"we went for a quiet Saturday pint and checked about hour at 5 o'clock. we had a prise stella and a quiet conversation next to the pass. regular here and always very respectful. had another half pint just before the departure to wait a good 15 minutes and then be told by the manager, were thrown out because I 'd 'has too much 'and they 't like the art and wise how the dinge ran. under an hour there and not moved, this came as an surprise. worse is that she spoke to my family member in third person: "It looks like her friend had a lot to do, but she 're in order' and 'we need to be even more rigorous in these days'. very shocked by this behavior, especially by senior employees. we politely left without fuss, but to treat how that was quite disgusting, especially just nipple for a quick pint on a Saturday afternoon. tables around us arranged mountains of drinks to be filled with a smile, but two young boys sitting by themselves were so drunk without complaining of customers or a warning that there was a problem at all. if they have a valid declaration or at least an apology. they needed the seats or we were loud, rude or drunk. not of whom we were. in times like these, they would think they need that. hard disappointed by the fairly openly discriminatory service of the staff."

It’s got to be the coldest bar in Newcastle, to uncomfortable to sit in when you’re just out for quiet drink, won’t be going back there again, sick of complaining.

the workers should be trained to accept when they are sober, the people they serve may have had a drink, my wife had a good laugh with family and friends, said to go, drink away from her and company said they could not have another drink until they released the spatialities. will we never go back to the bay horse? Went for breakfast this morning and quickly left. Overheard the manager saying they had no cutlery... on a morning... which only means a very quick wash through a minging dish washer. What did it for me was the grumpy member of staff who wiped a table with a filthy rag and didn’t squirt one bit of sanitiser on it. Won’t be returning.

The managers here are power hungry bully's, they throw out and stop serving young lasses and lads for no good reason but never say a thing to the grown adults that can argue and defend themselves against them. Not to mention the food is always thrown together and always cold. I think people only go because it's cheap, far better pubs in Whickham

extremely rude manager and young female employees. customer details remained unattended while the person she took went for tape massive data protection violation! customer toilets had not been checked since (9am it was now 12) and the service manager had not checked them at all after the not signed sheet. I also observed his rudeness with customers and missing Kovid rules. he needs training in customer service View menu

A friendly and welcoming pub with all the features you’d expect from a Wetherspoon. The beer is reasonably priced, and there's a good selection available (though no Fosters). During my visit, the weather was a bit unpredictable, so I initially sat outside in a sheltered area that appears to have been set up during the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained since. The restrooms were clean as well. Overall, you're in Whickham!

Would NOT recommend. Got the be the rudest staff I’ve ever came across, especially the so called ‘managers’. Their excuse for being power hungry is that they are enforcing covid rules when they’re not they are just stroking their ego, me and my friends got kicked out after 1 round of drinks and food as they claimed they thought we had ‘had enough’ STILL waiting for a refund from the second round I ordered and did not receive. After reading all the other reviews it’s good to see it’s not just us and people clearly hold the same opinion, If your trying to have a good night with friends please do not go here as the miserable staff will totally ruin your night. Will never ever return.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
