"We booked at the last minute and to our surprise found The Hungry Ram packed, we got the last table! The menu was simple (I like that, easier to decide what to order! . W had the pork belly and I had the haddock and chips. Both were cooked to perfection. The HR is a converted primary school and open plan which works well for large parties. The parking was adequate for the large number of cars present. The staff were attentive and friendly and we felt welcomed by all. Recommended!"

Venue was lovely, but the food was a bit disappointing. Saute potatoes had not seen the saute pan and the tarte tatan was a bit mushy. Tasty no less though.

Honestly, one of the best burgers I've ever had! My girlfriend surprised me with a meal here for my birthday and the staff even embarrassed me with a brownie slab while singing happy birthday.. Would highly recommend

Great place to visit, the food is fantastic and the staff are really great. Ensure to book in advance as there is no table to spare, and you're likely to be disappointed if you just turn up without the advanced booking. We would definitely visit again. Thank you to all the staff at The Hungry Ram Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Tried our luck to get a walk-in table, and the amazing staff squeezed the three of us in. There is plenty of free parking and the view from our table was lovely. The food was wonderful, especially the salmon and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. I'm definitely adding The Hungary Ram to my favourites! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

after reading earlier reviews in a guestbook where we stay, we decided that this would be the perfect place for an evening meal. we have booked our food for the last night of our vacation and it has really picked up our week. eating and service was phenomenal and so good priced. we decided for their Thursday evening burger, pint and a brownie for £15 and it was so delicious. we will see each other again next time!

"We made our way over to The Milestone, and I admit I may have judged it too quickly based on a sign advertising a £4.99 daily carvery. At one point, I even asked Mr. Snarky if he wanted to consider another place. The pub was bustling, situated conveniently next to the shopping center and the bus station, with a bit of outdoor seating facing the bus station and plenty of seating inside. It was full of character, not to mention the regulars popping in for a pint. The menu isn’t extensive, but you can certainly grab a meal for under £10—some options even fall below £5. With this in mind, I didn’t have high expectations for my meal; I just wanted something to tide me over until dinner. I chose the Carvery Sandwich, which came filled with meats from the carvery in a bap (which they called a bread cake), some stuffing, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire Pudding, and gravy. Mr. Snarky opted for Bangers and Mash. Our total with two large sodas was just £11. As we sat, we observed that it was a popular spot for shoppers—some enjoying a cup of tea while others stopped for slushies. The staff seemed to know many of the patrons well but were equally friendly to newcomers like us. Our food arrived in good time, and we were surprised by the portion sizes and the presentation! While it might not be gourmet cuisine, we both enjoyed our meals. I went for the mixed meats from the carvery that day—pork and turkey, both generous servings. The gravy was delightful, and the Yorkshire Pudding was tasty, although one side looked slightly burnt. I wasn’t a big fan of the stuffing, and the roasties could have been crispier, but they were a nice alternative to chips. I can't speak for the drinks, but their selection of lager and ale looked impressive. While it may not be a gastropub, the dishes we saw being served—including Fish and Chips, Scampi, and Carvery dinners—looked appealing, and our meals were satisfying. I’d categorize this place as cheap and cheerful—and very convenient. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise!"
