"my partner and I were recently in the johnbarleycorn in duxford and we were strapped by the place. we would not have had a warmer greeting from nick after we spent 5 hours on the road! the room was cozy and warm, clean with generous tea and coffee accessories. the bathroom was small, but we had everything we needed, including much soft white bathroom towels. I hadn't felt like I had eaten a lot in the evening, but I couldn't resist a delicious salad with hot smoked salmon flakes, warm kartoffels and a perfectly picked egg above. then followed a delicious cheesecake and coffee. the breakfast next morning was generous with a lot of hot toast, tee and coffee. we stay in the next year definitiw again!"

Absolutely amazing food, friendly service and great atmosphere! Will definitely visit again. My only minor quibble is the lie of the day a pastry lid is not a pie!

Great stay in the historic John barleycorn. Really efficient super friendly staff. Great food and lovely room. Only criticism is it's not always easy to get a reservation.

Lovely pub good food highly recommend. Have not stayed but the rooms look very comfortable. This is a convenient half way mark to meet our relatives for a good chat and Sunday lunch

Popped in here on a long drive up't north. They kept the kitchen open for me and the French onion soup was very enjoyable. The pub is beautiful, the food tasty and prices very reasonable. Highly recommended for a visit. Service: 5 Location: 5

The most characteristic, charming and quaint country pub. Always busy so best to book. Such a great atmosphere and fab staff who can't do enough for you. Really good wine list, the white Rioja was a particular favourite. Exquisite food tops it off. Shame its 3hrs away, already can't wait to return next June. It's just perfect.

Friendly staff, plenty of space outside with tables in a courtyard or inside. Good quality pub grub which everyone in our party of six agreed was excellent. Small changes were happily accommodated by the staff and nothing seemed too much trouble. Prices were reasonable and 10% service charge was added on which we were happy to pay.

Have just stayed here for two nights, absolutely lovely rustic country pub. Rooms good with everything you need. Very quiet at night, which is good. Was made to feel very welcome by Ian, even though we arrived a little late for food on the first night they went out their way to ensure we got a meal. Well done to Andrew the chef, could not fault your meals, absolutely lovely and good portion sizes. Nice outdoor garden area. Will definitely stay again when back in the area. Food drinks: Great food, good portion sizes Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet

I am from the U.S. and we were in Duxford area for about 5 days in September 2017 and we stayed at this wonderful old English Inn!! The rooms were quaint (don't compare with a modern city hotel) but wonderful fun! The food in the Pub was xlnt we tried almost everything!! The sticky pudding was a wonderful treat!! The people in the Pub are extremely friendly and will help you with whatever you may need. The establishment was originally built in the 1500's and established the greatest atmosphere! Every day the pub was full most evenings you might need a reservation! It was such a delight!!
