"Newly refurbished so thought we would give it a try. The pub/restaurant itself is really nice with modern contemporary decor and was lovely and warm when we arrived. The Food was exemplary, compliments to the chef!! The service unfortunately let the side down. We waited on several occasions for our order to be taken, both for food and drinks and at one point had to go to the bar to order drinks. When the starters appeared the head waiter appeared before we had put a fork in the meal to ask how it was!! when the main arrived we were asked whether we wanted any sauces, which we said yes to, unfortunately we had finished our course by the time the sauces appeared and when we pointed this out we were met with the answer 'well at least you got them. ' After the main course again we waited a long time before our plates were cleared and finally asked if we wanted another drink. We did raise our concerns with the head waiter and admittedly were given 10% off the main meals, however as regular restaurant attenders we would rather of had good service. Unfortunately this experience was not a pleasant one which is sad because the food and surroundings were fantastic. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

The renovation looks lovely. Sadly, we didn't get to experience the food. I travelled all the way from Australia for lunch with my great Aunt (91), who lives in the area, and we were turned away. Highly recommended to book a table, even though it didn't appear to be a recommendation. Atmosphere: 5

This restaurant offers faultless, outstanding service. It was probably the best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time. We were completely satisfied with our experience at this restaurant- the food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were very polite. There is ample parking available, with free street parking options. The price per person is over £100. We would rate the food a 4 out of 5, the service a 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 5 out of 5. We highly recommend trying the Sweet Potato and Leek Pie.
