The food was definitely a highlight, earning a solid 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Full English Breakfast and the Eggs Benedict, both of which were delicious. The service was also commendable, scoring another 4; the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The atmosphere was decent but could use a bit more charm, resulting in a rating of 3. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch that I would recommend to others."

"We enjoy adventurous, contemporary and imaginative food and that is why we enjoy dining at Stones. We are fortunate to have dined at some of the UK’s finest restaurants and although inexplicably Stones does not have Michelin stars it compares very favourably with some of its more salubrious counterparts. During the meal some delicious and unusual canapés, an amuse bouche, kitchen creations of fresh bread and flavoured butters, and petit fours are presented and fully described by the charming waiting staff. The staff are delightful, and I’d describe the menu as modern haute cuisine, which might put some diners off, please don’t let it! The taste combinations are incredible and although the plates aren’t overflowing, you will certainly be pleasantly replenished at the end of your meal. We love this family run restaurant which oozes charm, charisma and a friendly, relaxed casual vibe. Fabulous at lunchtime, or evenings and equally sensational at either end of the day. Book it, and decide for yourselves. Absolutely amazing for a celebration meal or just as a treat."

"We got seated straight away and came to take our drinks order. When our drinks arrived we expected her to take our food order but we waited and waited in the end I went to the bar area and asked is it table service or we have to order at the bar. She said she would come to our table. Once we ordered our meal everything was perfect the meal was lovely and the service improved."

"I saw some decent photos online and decided to give this restaurant a try instead of booking a chain hotel like Premier Inn. Unfortunately, appearances can be deceiving. Last orders for food were at 8pm with no exceptions, so I ordered a burger in advance. It cost £16 and was served on a small wooden board instead of a plate, making it difficult to eat as it fell apart. My room was on the second floor and was cold, tired, and dirty with a red carpet, dirty windowsills, dusty surfaces, and a cracked sink. Despite complaining, the heating was only turned on in the evening and I woke up cold in the morning. The breakfast room was also cold, but the cooked breakfast was good with a great sausage. The hotel is in need of a complete renovation, but a thorough cleaning and daily attention to detail, along with some new furniture, could make a big difference. It's a shame because I typically prefer older hotels."

"We visited on Thursday evening to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we entered, we were truly impressed. The ambiance was beautiful, with rose petals scattered everywhere and a lovely smoky aroma that welcomed us. Our meal was simply stunning! The starter arrived with flames on the plate, and our curry was nothing short of perfection. James and the other waiter, who was from Nepal, provided exceptional service. They were very friendly and kept us updated on the timing between courses. They even took the time to chat and share some laughs with us. Although we can be a bit restless, there wasn't a single thing that we felt was lacking. The prices were also quite reasonable. We can't wait to return in the future!"
