"Visited the Lamps on Xmas eve with friends, to be told they were closing at 9.30pm. This was a big shame as it was busy and we were there for the night, but had to leave at 9.20ish. Visited again after watching Bristol rugby and entered at 10.25 on a Friday night. There were only 4 other customers in there and basically the bar staff had decided to shut for the night, which I can understand except 4 customers had just walked in! Surely they could have served us one round of drinks? It doesn't bode well or encourage you to visit the pub.A lot of effort went into saving this pub after it had been shut down for years, its now been sold to St Austell brewery and not much effort is being made in welcoming the punters if it is slightly inconvenient for the staff. Lets hope you are still there in a year!"

This pub is a hidden treasure. The beer is fantastic and the staff is even better. There is also a lovely open fire to cozy up next to.

Large family gathering on Monday, and the bar staff and kitchen staff dealt with all the orders brilliantly. The food was lovely and we have been back since then for lunch too. Definitely will be coming back!

The Sunday lunch at this restaurant was excellent. The slow-cooked beef brisket was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the price was very reasonable. The staff were fantastic, and we will definitely be returning soon. View menu

I've been here a few times now since restrictions lifted and have always had a great time. The app is one of the best I've used (but I also like that its not enforced like some places) The menu is a little bit limited at...

My friend and I decided to celebrate lockdown opening up by having lunch at The Lamplighters at Shirehampton. We booked a table and took our places at the set time. There were only a few people there, most of them with drinks, sitting at garden...

We visited this pub as part of a big running group, and we were well looked after. The interior is cozy and clean, and our halloumi burgers were fine without being amazing. Friendly and helpful staff, and very accommodating to a big group. Good parking outside and, in summer, a nice waterfront location. Thanks for a good visit.

A year and a half to the day I last visited this pub and things seemed to have changed for the worse. I ordered some food and drink from one of the rudest and worse bar staff I 've imagined. She looked like a typical older aged student who wouldn 't know how to say the sentances thank you or excuse me if she 'd tried. I ordered fish and chips. What I actually recieved was something resembling fish and chips. Some half burnt shell of what was a fish and chips so tasteless, they might have well not have been peeled and cut. The 'dish ' came with a serving of mushy peas which I didnt order in the first place. And all overpriced, to boot. Will not be going back there in a hurry, I can assure you.

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
