"The food is a bit hit and miss based upon what we had, but there is a pleasant atmosphere, the service is quick and the staff polite. The place is reasonably done out and had background music of 1980 soft rock metal playing in the background....All very pleasant. The issue was with the food. 3 of our party had a Sunday Roast all of which gave it 5 out of 5 with a large portion of meat for a £9.50 roast (2 had lamb, one chicken). Two others thought that their food was okay average. One (a veggie) had what turned out to be a very small pasta dish gave it 1 out of 5. On had a meat platter which she gave 2 out of 5. Hence food wise an average of about 3 out of 5. Just a pitty that they could not do all of the food as nice as the roasts. Typical order at the bar and have it delivered to you table food. Better than the Wetherspoons up the road that we went to in the week before though."

I went out for a Friday night and had a fantastic experience - the atmosphere was great, there was a good mix of music, and the mojitos were absolutely delicious!

Absolutely terrible!!!! I was greeted with a warming...”yes??” Then charged £5.20 for a strongbow and black!!!! Which is awful if you know it!! We can forgive these things if there’s a decent atmosphere.....but no!! 0-10

I absolutely adore this place for post-work drinks. The staff is incredibly friendly and the two-for-one cocktails on Thursdays are fantastic! I highly recommend trying the Wray and Nephew cocktails and the steak with mushroom sauce.

bar lady with black hair with orange ends and black glasses very rude and was more preokkupied to see her phone than we were at the bar than actually doing her work. I don't think she ever thought of any manating. bad for...business I just asked for an empty half pint glass and she didn't want to give me one. first she said she had nothing and it was just on a rule before me and then she asked for a tupfer and she gave me a dirty. not cool when they ignore customers.

Went along to this pub/restaurant for a work Xmas party. Food was cold and tasted like it was out from the freezer. We was the only ones there having food. It was too late to realize why that was. Terrible customer service from the manager....She was impolite and showed an attitude when we spoke to her of service and food disappointment. Quality and standard was so low. Will never attend this place for food. Atmosphere was terrible. Please stay away from this place and we do not recommend anyone to arrange a work Christmas party or any party in fact.

I have visited this restaurant a few times with my parents. We ordered two breakfasts, but it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive and I had to ask the staff multiple times. The food tasted terrible and I couldn't understand how reheated frozen food could take so long. I hate to criticize others' work, but I hope this review helps the next person. The server was pleasant, but the rest of the staff and the cook were not visible. The food arrived partially cold and tasted spicy. The toilets were not very clean. The location is beautiful and has a rustic charm, but it is dirty. I would not go back until there is new management or a different establishment operating there. I wouldn't even go b...

Booked a work Christmas meal here for a party of 15. All I can say is the food was horrific, tasteless and COLD. Having spoken to the chef about the food all he could do was apologise. Then we spoke to the manager, Joanna. She...had stated that she was in the kitchen ‘training’ the staff how to cook. Now training professional chefs on how to cook is not promising coming from a business who’s name has the word ‘Tavern’ written in it, you’d expect good quality hearty food and all we got was food from the fridge (to put it bluntly). The manager had immediately dismissed our view on the food and had said that the food was hot when it left the kitchen and told us that we should ‘suit ourselves’ w...

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We sat at a table that had been reserved by someone else, but when we asked to see the reservation sign, the staff told us it was fine. However, when the person who reserved the table arrived, the manager kicked us out. The reservation was for 8:00, and we arrived at 8:04, but our table wasn't ready until 8:22. The waiter was confrontational and disrespectful, even placing his drink on our table and standing over us. Despite us being in the middle of our meal, the manager asked us to leave. It was clear that he was favoring certain customers over others, as he was with the Eastern European group. Additionally, we were told upon entering that t...
