"My family of 5 went to lunch with the specific intention of trying the Friday fish and chips at this restaurant. The meal was fantastic, hands down the best fish and chips we have ever had. The service from a very friendly and courteous young lady was exceptional. The food was flavorful and cooked to perfection, beautifully presented. The condiments on the table were all top quality - HP sauce, Heinz tomato ketchup, etc. No cheap plastic packets here. The drink selection was diverse, with a variety of real ales, lagers, apple ciders, and wines available by the bottle or glass in red, white, and rose. All of the staff members were charming and helpful, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The cost of a large portion of fish, chips, mushy peas, and tartar sauce was £19 for two people. Considering the generous portion size and quality of the meal, it was excellent value for money. A big thank you to the chef and everyone involved in providing such a great dining experience."

Sunday Lunch was truly awful, we have been a couple of times to the pilot boat and thought we would try here instead. Big mistake, Pilot boat is far better .

Called in for a pint whilst walking along the shores around New Brighton on a windy day. The welcome was warm, the beer excellent and a very good sandwich, just what the doctor ordered!

Four of us went to this pub for a drink. It was really busy and there were no tables available, but the friendly staff managed to seat us. We all enjoyed a delicious roast dinner, and the cherry-blackwell cheesecake was out of this world. The pub had a great selection of beer and we will definitely be returning. See you soon.

Lovely pub to visit when you have been for a walk down the prom. It feels a lot bigger inside with the extra side rooms than it looks outside. Lovely little beer garden to the side with plenty of tables to sit. They have a...large selection of drinks and when we last visited got a glimpse of the menu, it was far too hot to have ordered food but it looks very nice and will definitely try it next time we visit once the weather has cooled down.

I have been to this pub several times as it is an old establishment with great staff and great beer. However, when four of us dined there yesterday evening and ordered tapas, we were not impressed. The homemade onion rings seemed undercooked and oily. The salt and pepper chicken skewers were mediocre, as was the chorizo. The ribs were decent, but lacked sufficient seasoning. The katsu chicken curry was decent, but the portion was small for the price of £30. Overall, I was disappointed with the food quality and portion sizes. I may return to this pub for drinks, but I would not recommend dining here based on our experience. View menu

Here good Friday, meeting a bunch of friends for a sesh, and a catch up. Can't call myself a regular, first time back in about 40 years : It's a lovely old place dating back to the mid 18th century. There's a nice bar on...entry, and a number of rooms off this. There's also a lovely beer garden, with a nice view over a section of the river. It's a warm, friendly place, the service was good throughout, and they do a great selection of ales. There's also food, general pub fair I believe, but non of us ate so I can't speak to their grub. Though the dishes we saw passing us did look very nice. It's a nice, family friendly place, and was pretty busy during our stay. We drank in the garden till it...

Known as “The Mags” to its locals this pub dates back to the 1750’s. Tucked away in the residential back streets of Wallasey But a short down hill stroll to the Egremont Promenade, it’s elevated position affords it fine views over the River Mersey to...Liverpool. Internally it has a lot of character and there are three separate rooms that lead off the main central bar area. It apparently also has a very pleasant garden, but I didn’t utilise this. The bar has five real ale hand pumps and all five were in operation for my early Saturday evening visit. This used to be a Bass owned pub apparently and Bass still features as a permanent ale. Alongside that there was two from Beartown Brewery, Peac...
