"We popped in here for a bite to eat after strolling round Margate. We looked at all the menus, and found that this was simple fare and looks welcoming I had a full breakfast and my partner had the vegetarian version. The food was well presented and given with a good smile by our waitress. The options of tea and the fact it was loose leaf was good. If you’re in Margate, and fancy a cuppaor a bite, this is a great place to stop"

My first gingerbread soya latte of the year and it was delicious. Sourdough toast was great too. Really quick service and nice and warm and cosy.

A popular place on the seafront for coffees and light lunches. We shared a yummy squash sandwich which was hard to squash because the bread was so bouncy!

Waited over 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches that were basically plates of rocket and total bill was £35. Service was friendly but felt the staff were out of their depth and not interested.

Very busy little cafe but well organised so we were able to find a table and place our order easily. A very tasty Pimms was enjoyed by us all as were the delicious sourdough bread sandwiches. The staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming.

Lovely, friendly service but just found £27 for our breakfast for 3 to be way overpriced. Sourdough was very thinly sliced, porridge was cold, sausage sandwich was 2 sausages in poor white sourdough. Coffees were good. I’d personally look elsewhere for value.

We had a really great lunch here. This place is highly recommended. We had the deli counter it was brilliant food. Excellent service and a very good price. Also, as you might guess from the name, they to excellent coffee. If you’re looking for a great lunch with super food you won’t do better in Margate!

3Adults for brunch and drinks. Sat outside on the adjacent paving. Excellent food and service. Good prices. Highly recommended. Looking to try Breakfast next time. the wind blew the adjacent umbrella over, that caused one of our drinks to crash to the ground and break glass. Both were replaced without any hassle.

We have always loved the Coffee Shed, food, service and coffee we have always found very good. However, on our visit this week we had lunch including items from the deli counter which were excellent. I had quiche and delicious new potatoes with a cod lettuce salad which was fantastic! We will definitely be lunching there next time we visit Margate from Ramsgate. Well done all at the Coffee Shed!

We stopped here for espresso as we couldn't seem to find anywhere nearby that sold good quality coffee. Really good coffee and lovely millionaire shortbread. Although it was very busy, the seating was nice, surrounded by interesting, good quality items to buy. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to go to the counter to order pay, but the coffees food were delivered to your table, so part table service.

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
