"The whole visit was awful we arrived at the mint on time with our reservations number and they had no knowledge of it on their computer system they said it had no been sent to them . We waited over an over for a table the lady behind the bar asked if we could put our food order in whilst we wait for a table , two starters were brought out to us whilst we waited in the bar they were took back and then came back out to us stone cold 15 minutes later once we had our table they took them back to make them again whilst the rest of our party ate theirs which ment we all ate at different times . The offered us free drinks as a geasture but we had to ask for them twice as they did not arrive the whole experience was terrible and it totally ruined Mother’s Day for me when I asked to speak to the manageress who had been hiding behind the bar she just said sorry you can have free drinks no acceptable at all"

We had a delightful lunch. Our waiter, Andrew, was both courteous and attentive. The food was excellent. View menu

The food was quite good, and the portion sizes were just right. However, the service was a bit slow. The staff was very friendly and made sure to check if everything was satisfactory while we were dining, which was appreciated.

This restaurant has a truly lovely family atmosphere. The servers are incredibly bright and cheerful, which makes for a warm experience. The roast was excellent all around, and the standout dish was definitely the delicious whistle!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was very friendly and helpful. We weren't rushed, so we had time to digest our main courses before we decided on desserts. Both my friend and I have been to the Mint on many occasions and it never fails to please. View menu

Went with my partner for a Valentines meal. Terrible service, did not get served any food in the end. We asked after 40 minutes where our food was and it turns out they forgot about us and hadn't even started making our starters, so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere.

Table booked and confirmed through Open Table website yet when we arrived at the restaurant our booking was not showing on their system; our table was booked for 7pm and they had a table for us anyway. We had starters which were okay but at 8:30 pm we still had not had our main meal brought out to us. When it finally came out only 4 out of the 5 meals arrived and I had to wait a further 20 minutes for my meal making my family feel awkward for eating their food while I was still waiting! My daughter had a hair in her starter and again in her main meal. Prawns ordered as a side dish were presented in a dirty bowl and were inedible. The manager needs to brush up on the delivery of his customer...

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
