"their rating of gastrohub. I first came over this pub when I came in the new forest with my dear wife and our little hairy friend wookie. I was looking for a good pub to eat at lunch, which was friendly in the way of dogs. the affenhaus was one of the first to show up, and it came highly recommended by several reviews I found. that sounded very like a job for gastrohub. the affenhaus originates from the wood branch of the kneipenart. so I mean, there are lots of wood. floors, tables, bar etc. it felt immediately inviting, which was only sharpened by the beautiful greeting we received from the personal. it became very quickly clear that dogs here are not only allowed, they are loved and appreciated, which makes the whole experience much more relaxed for dog owners. rachel had recently vegetarian, so it was good to see several interesting non-meat options on the menu. she chose the sweet potato and cocosnut cure. I went with a sharp chicken burger. the pub is a free house, led by a family, and during our visit we met several of them. they were all very friendly, some even give tasty things to do wookie, who quickly decided that this was their favorite pub. the food didn't take too long to arrive, and when it was, we were soon glad we had come. rachels curry was delicious and my burger was a real burger. a good piece of real chicken, not a bought in baked chicken breast. the chips were good, the tear was good, everything was good. when we had been plucked to the end of our meal, we were both satisfied and pleased to have found such a wonderful new pub for our traveling to the new forest. I have never experienced friendly people working in a pub, and for that the affenhaus must be congratulated and applauded. it is often not until they have experienced such warmth and enthusiasm that they realize how much difference it can make at their time in a pub whether they eat or drink. there is a good menu and a good cook that puts the food together. there is everything to like about this pub, and we will certainly be for more."

had a nice vegan sweet potato curry while visiting with the family for Sunday dinner. it was nice to see something on the menu that was labeled vegan, so I could order without having to make changes to the food! pub is also really cozy!

I really enjoyed their beers and burgers. The staff are all very nice and I like the decor. The only reason why I can't score it perfectly was that our monkfish was overcooked and dry. I feel like most pubs don't do delicate food as well in general. Will definitely go back though.

This is the best regular pub for making those with specific dietary requirements feel welcome and no problem. There's a listed vegan main course and dessert so you don't have that awkward discussion about what you can have but if you do ask they're happy to adapt many of the other dishes on the menu. The chef is dairy and gluten free so really gets it. Plus it's a really friendly and relaxed place to be. View menu

When looking for a vegan restaurant in Lymington, The Monkey House popped up and I am SO glad I got to go there. When arriving, I was worried about having to ask for the vegan option, but the main and dessert were both listed on the main menu. When being served, a guy who I presume was the manager in particular recommended the vegan options which I thought was great. Both the main and dessert were so delicious and so reasonably priced. I'm hoping they will be adding more vegan options in the future... We shall see, will definitely be returning!

great place to eat. the staff was very helpful on the phone. very accommodating for our dog and small child, with entertaining employee talks with my son and tasty for the dog. we asked for the food of my life to come immediately as he was hungry and they really brought it fast. his share was as good as an adult meal, I would have liked to eat it for myself! the fish and the chips were delicious and perfectly accompanied by the reduced pea pea pee. the best chips that I have eaten for a past and fresh fish. the gloomy, and everything in a beautiful environment. thanks monkey house!
