"Booked for a birthday. I'd bought a cake and took it with me. Not only did they store it in their fridge for me, but they actually plated it up like it was one of their desserts with no charge! Two other points need mentioning: the whole chicken is definitely too much for two people (but you can take the leftovers home) and you need to have some cash with you if you want to tip as you can't add it if paying by card. An excellent food and service experience; we will definitely be going again, but with some cash next time."

"I'm embarrassed to admit that I should have written this review ages ago. I'm a regular at Sakura but I have wanted to keep the place a secret for myself but that is obviously not fair or sustainable. Fortunately the rest of the world doesn't think selfishly like me. What can I say about this place. Well lets start with the food. It's frankly the best Sushi I've ever had and I've done my fair share of travel. We moved to South Woodford 5 years ago and have previously used Wansteads Sumo Fresh until Sakura moved in. A tiny space on Hermon Hill I've watched it grow from a couple of people to over half a dozen and the quality and care have been maintained if not even excelled. Sakura ensure quality, if you have to wait for that quality then get over yourself, it's worth it. You get personal service each and everytime. I don't know how they do it but they know me by name and they look after me everytime."

"I came here yesterday evening with my 8 year old nephew, Sister and Dad. We had not booked but they said they could fit us in for an hour. It’s such a lovely restaurant with a great ambiance. I wouldn’t say a Saturday evening is great for bringing kids, it seemed more like an adult place but not sure what the rest of the week is like. My Sister and I loved the music although I’m not sure my Dad could hear us talking as he kept saying pardon but it didn’t matter. The ambiance is really nice, it’s quite dark inside with a candlelit environment which makes me also think it would be a great place to go on a date. The food was lovely, just the right portion size, I wouldn’t describe it as the best Turkish food that I have had but it really was delicious all the same and the staff were very friendly and were well informed about the menu. I would definitely go back."

"Both of our main courses were sent back. The lasagne was a small, flat dish of overcooked slop in a skillet, not quite living up to the expectations for £13 at James Italian. After sending it back, I ordered the meatballs which were enjoyable. My son also sent his food back because the pasta was thick and dry, although he found the bolognese to be okay. The staff were friendly and the manager was helpful in rectifying our food issues. However, having dined at various branches in the past and loving it, I was disappointed with the declining quality of the food and have no plans to return. I had expected much more and was left feeling very disappointed."
