"Nothing special and there's nothing wrong with that! Just does what it does, with the stoic aplomb that so many long standing British boozers do. Good range of keggy ciders and beers, mainly from the St Austell range. Cheerful gang of youngsters serving food and drink, from a wide ranging menu, with all the usual standards, with choices straight from the fryer making a frequent appearance. I had a bowl of chipsNgravy for a fiver. All the food appeared within minutes of ordering. Good Stuff. Cheap and cheerful. Good views, lots of benches to sit on. Less busy than the somewhat superior Chequers next door, which in my book is a Good Thing !"

Very quaint, old traditional pub. Visited as part of a river cruise. Good food, fast service and reasonable prices. Would recommend.

We visited this cozy pub over the weekend and found it to be quite busy with hikers and their dogs stopping by for a quick pint and to warm up. They offer a full Sunday lunch...

This is one of my favorite pubs in Bristol. It has a traditional atmosphere and serves the best pints. The drive here can be a bit fun, especially if you have to navigate the one-lane road with traffic. View menu

If you're a tourist in search of a traditional English pub with lots of history, then the Old Lock Weir is the perfect choice. With a history dating back three hundred years, this pub offers a true taste of old England.

Pretty expensive for what it is: the food is just cheap frozen stuff, but the prices don't reflect that. The views are nice, and it's a nice area, so it has that going for it. I'd say, come here for a drink don't bother buying food

Always love having a roast here but decided to stop in for lunch on a different day and part of our order included brie wedges. The wedges were £6.95 for four wedges and one was empty very surprised the chef served an empty wedge as the cheese must have been visible in the fryer. Also the chips could at best described as tepid View menu

Superb views, cant fault the venue, it gets very busy though. Lovely to sit inside or outside so that part 5 stars defo. Bar staff fast and friendly they get 5 stars too. But the food was pretty awful. frozen veg was used...who uses frozen veg when your charging £18 for a sunday lunch!! condimentswere in paper macdonalds style things. I also had a curly black hair on the side, so had to stop eating after seeing that. There was no bill so we thought we were over charged but couldnt prove it. We will go next door for food in fuutre sadly.

We ordered a drink at the bar and took our seat. There were no other people eating for the duration. After 10 minutes we called the waitress over and placed our order. The homemade soup arrived 15 minutes later. It was awful. After a further 30 minutes there was no sign of our main course. I complained about the service. I was told the food was just coming. 10 minutes later there was still no food on the table. I went to the bar and paid for what we had. The response from the waitress beggared belief. She just didn’t appear to care. So my summation of the Old Lock. Shocking. Absolutely awful.

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
