"We were looking for somewhere to have a nice coffee and spotted the sign for this cafe, tucked at the back of the main street in glorious Castle Coombe. There was outside indoor seating available and we chose to sit inside to warm ourselves up a bit from the chilly wind ! We had a coffee each and shared a tasty moist slice of apricot and pistachio cake...delicious. The coffee itself was super hot. Service was quick and the ladies were really friendly helpful. What a find. We highly recommend a visit here and will definitely return if in the area again. Thank you !"

Nice little cafe to stop by and enjoy some hot chocolate coffee on cold days. Carrot cake was also nice. View menu

Hidden round the back you will find the old stables coffee shop.Smallest cups I’ve ever had but I must say that it is a very good coffee. I’m sure they put the late in a small espresso cup. Very expensive for what you get.

Coffee/breakfast reminiscent of old days at a ranch or stable. Sweets and food with enough variety and very neat and tasty. It is worth trying the traditional scones served with jam and whipped butter. Ideally, I would like the shop to have a better view or front tables.

We were looking for tea and cake and spotted a sign to this little place. We had tea and shared two slices of cake. The selection was really lovely, and we settled on a slice of bakewell tart, and a cake with apricot...can't remember the name. Both were great...the slices were really generous too. If I'm being honest, I thought it was a bit expensive £16.75 for 3 cups of tea and 2 slices of cake), but we would visit again, if in the area.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
