"Decided to try here for food on Saturday night as we had been out all day to an event and were rather hungry. We arrived about 8pm to a rather rowdy dining area and lots of small children, crying, screaming, shouting and running around the restaurant like it was a play area. We were very disappointed at the limited menu on offer but as we were cold and hungry decided to not go elsewhere and make do with something from the menu. Unfortunately the food was not good, fish and chips with mushy peas were chosen that was very over cooked including the peas, I ordered the pumpkin burger which apparently had never been made before and was a first for the chef, it was absolutely horrible, just a mushy greasy orange mess with a funny tasting sauce drizzled over it, I’ve never tasted anything like it in all my years as a vegetarian. I also think it completely unacceptable that a person with a long beard cooking the food was not wearing a covering as all food handlers are required to wear effective hair restraints that cover all exposed hair, this person was also grabbing fries out of a big bowl and serving them onto plates with his bare hands, and why I was not at all surprised to find a hair on my plate. It wasn’t particularly clean in the restaurant, the tables needed a good clean with hot soapy water as they were very sticky. Unfortunately, this dining experience was not for us and we shall not be returning. Also, not much choice for vegetarians other than a pumpkin burger."

Visited last night for a friends/family meal. The food was excellent and very good value for money. Staff was friendly and helpful. The place was quiet due to the heavy rain this week, but spacious and would be very comfortable for large parties.

Came for mulled wine, Ended up with a 3 for a multiple of 9, The goats cheese mousse was sublime, Along with the candid walnuts oh my. We Came along the belly pork, there was no need need to use the fork. The garlic mushrooms were divine, questioning whether I should share mine. All poems aside the food took us by surprise, defo worth a trip here. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was comfy and welcoming x

We had a lovely Lunch here Wednesday, the food was delicious as always but what really makes this place special is the warm welcoming staff, nothing is too much trouble and you quickly feel relaxed. We had the pleasure of being welcomed by Manager Tracie. Sipped coffee and a pint of ale by the log burner while we perused menus Tracie was able to answer any questions we had and we went with her recommendation and boy were we wowed. The food gets better and better each time we visit. 3 tapas and the duck dish perfection View menu

I really don’t know where to start. On arrival we were seated and drinks orders taken straight away ! Lookin good That’s where it ends. Took half hr for food order to be taken. Then another 40 mins for food to arrive and wasn’t busy !! Staff walking round like headless chickens. Had to go to bar to order another drink as the wait was so long for food and payed cash , again had to go up to bar to pay bill and tried to add the drink that I had payed for cash on the bill. Absolute shambles of a place. The steak and ale pie was just meat in pastry. Very dry. Home made chips were clearly warmed up. Never again. Over priced amateur set up. Really ain’t sure how they are still trading
