"I visited this restaurant last week to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. It is a charming traditional pub located by the canal. The food is deliciously prepared and I want to give compliments to the chef. I have been there twice this month and each visit has been wonderful. We popped into the Black Star for a drink when on a dog walk. The staff were very polite and friendly the atmosphere was very relaxed and the food was great.

The only reason why I'm giving it a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star is because the seating was a bit uncomfortable. However, if I had the option, I would rate it a 4.5.
