"I regularly visit the pub because the location suits for after work catch ups, parking great, outside space lovely. Menu is great at the moment with lots of yummy dishes. Negatives from this visit were we went early as booked on line there was no space later in the evening. We were a party of 4. We were put on a table that literally was in the corridor to the bar area with absolutely no room between the wall and the chairs. In fact one member of the party had to sit diagonally into the run way as couldn’t fit in. The service was very slow. It didn’t overly matter as it was a friends birthday and we were catching up however the order for the “do you want a pudding” was ridiculous long to the point we gave up and left without ordering the puddings and coffee etc. we decided it was easier to go to the bar to pay as the waitress never returned! This isn’t usually the service I expect it normally receive but I wouldn’t want it to happen again. The staff were by no means in any rush. There may have been a private function in the back room that took staff away I don’t know but that was the only excuse I could think of. It’s not good enough. I know there’s times when staff let you down. Overall we had a good night but you missed out on four puddings and coffees plus more drinks possibly."

Stunning food! Had the Buttermilk fried chicken burger and it was exceptional. Friendly and welcoming staff, clean and homely. Brilliant, we'll be back!

Absolutely fantastic! The roast lunch was delicious and perfectly cooked. The mixed roast was exceptional! Everything was incredibly tasty, and the gravy and vegetables were spot on, paired with a lovely bottle of wine. I will definitely make a reservation again!

Me and my parents had a beautiful lunch : Hunter's chicken/sausage and mash ... The food was presented lovely on the plate/dish, served hot, tasty, fresh salad with lovely dressing. We also shared a gorgeous cherry and apple crumble with custard, delicious ... Definitely make a visit, otherwise you're missing out! View menu

Totally perfect. We sat outdoors to enjoy the sunshine under a parasol. We brought our dog who enjoyed a run around the field just next to the pub. Our 5year old boy played in the play area and made friends with the other children. They all had a great time and we could see them at all times so was completely safe allowing us chance to relax. Food was amazing!… all our meals were delicious and the wine I had with my meal was the best I’ve had! We’ll be back for definite!

Always a wonderful welcome. The staff are efficient and friendly, the establishment is always absolutely immaculately presented and the exterior is extremely well kept. The menu has various selection, the meals are presented beautifully and the price is so reasonable for both drinks and food. I attend always with my friendship group and every time we have a fantastic experience. We love coming to the pheasant it is by far one of the best places to dine in the Bridgend area.

Came here with a party of 9 people on Boxing day. The food took hours to arrive, we were warned that there may be a delay so weren't too bothered about this. The starter arrived and was decent. The main course then arrived... steak inedible, chicken pie was burned, the chips were cold with all meals and garlic bread had clearly been reheated and was not fresh. At no point throughout the meal were we asked if we wanted more drinks etc. We were offered a 20% discount on the bill which we considered insufficient. Little to no apology from the staff. Definitely wont be returning. View menu

I visited this restaurant for a birthday party and ordered the four chicken dippers. Although they were supposed to be crispy, they looked and tasted burnt, as if they had been scorched by a flamethrower. Surprisingly, I only received three chicken dippers and a chicken nugget instead of four. The fries were decent, but the beans served alongside were incredibly dry and tasted bad. A companion at my table ordered the sausages and mash but barely received more than a teaspoon of it—no exaggeration! A few others at our table had plates with just three or four peas, and nobody else was served peas. While the service was good and parking was convenient, the food was absolutely disappointing.

What a fantastic place! First impressions really matter, and this one did not disappoint. Upon entering, we were greeted by a large water dispenser on a vintage wooden cabinet, and shelves stocked with water bowls and dog blankets. There were three of these setups around the pub, and I must admit, it made me want to "borrow" a dog just to take advantage of the thoughtful amenities! The staff clearly wanted to make sure every member of the family, pets included, felt welcome. We returned for a meal the next evening, and the food was outstanding. We've realized we hold high expectations when dining out, but the quality here met those standards. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recomm...

"So came here last night 13th oct. 9 of us 2 of which 2 young kids. Had starter , calamari this was ok, sauce was nice. Main was lovely which was lasagne really quite tasty it came with chips which were nothing special if im honest, i ordered a side of garlic bread with it which was nice, The host was a nice guy very chatty, the staff seemed a little clumsy if im honest, just as we sat down a tray of drinks went down the back of my sister because the waitress wasn't looking what she was doing although accidents do happen so no biggy, although I will say nothing was offered! No extra drinks, a free starter, nothing!!! This brings me on to the cost. Not much beer choice at all, consisting of draught peroni which was are you sitting down) £6.50 a pint! So I ordered a bottle of bishops finger which i thought was a 500ml bottle, it didn't say on the menu the size of the drink which i think it should have, Well the bottle came and it was a 330ml bottle!! £4.70 for a 330ml bottle!!! im sorry but thats to much, come on guys. We all had a starter and a main with dessert each, i had the newyork cheesecake, which was ok but tasted abit like something frozen, didn't seem home made to me anyway. The Total bill came to just over £400!!! £60 of which was a service charge i was told by someone on the table, but the owner has now said that there was no service charge so if this is the case then i apologise), we were a decent size group but you know when you've gone somewhere and feel that the cost is just too much. Nice restaurant but too expensive imo."
