The Plough Inn's English Steakhouse

This is the second time I came here on my way to a hike. This place never fails to deliver. Great food, location and staff. The food is a bit more on the expensive side compared to normal pub food but it makes sense given the quality

So, we had a layover before our flight from Gatwick, and we found this place on Google. Man, it was awesome! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I had their daily special, which was rump of lamb with red wine sauce, and it was bloody delicious.

Myself 15 friends family were welcomed and entertained for birthday celebrations held in the barn extension. Both the food, drink especially the service were excellent with everyone thoroughly enjoying the occasion. It was a memorable event and thank you for making it so.

A lovely inn for a two night stay whilst going to Wimbledon Great food, good selection of quality wines and beers. Lovely friendly staff. Our room was nothing like the photos unfortunately… very tired and scuffed, divan covers not fitted.. Would this stop us from rebooking… no As in general it is really a hidden gem!

What an absolutely great find, booked to stay overnight pre Gatwick flight and weren't we lucky to find this place. Surrounded by woodland but only 30 mins drive to Gatwick. A really warm welcome, great service, room was good and the meals wow !! A great atmosphere with locals also using the bar/restaurant and a gorgeous resident Great Dane .

We stayed a night here and enjoyed the breakfast the next month. It's a cosy little pub in the middle of nowhere. The room was large, bed comfortable, and it was quiet. However the best thing was the shower. The staff were very friendly, including the great dane. We were able to have a nice chat. Breakfast the next morning was good too. Did I mention the shower?

Me and my now wife had our wedding party here and we couldn't have been happier. From start to finish, the owner, Enes, couldn't have been more accommodating and done everything he could to make our day special. His staff also worked tirelessly on the day.Everyone commented on how good the food and venue was for our wedding party. I am a regular visitor of the plough inn whenever I come and stay in Surrey, and for good reason! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. A notable favourite dish of mine is the fish and chips which I would argue is the best in Surrey! The service is quick and speedy from friendly and welcoming staff. Ethan is an amazing bartender and pours a world class pint! There’s a huge range of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic available. The atmosphere and vibe of the pub is lovely and I would definitely recommend that anyone come here for lunch, dinner or even just a quick pint if they’re in Surrey.

I visited The Plough a few weeks ago for a beer, during a walk local to me. I had a pint of Dorking Brewery, Pilcrow Pale. The beer was excellent and a sat in the garden, which is a very comfortable space. I wasn't so impressed with the high price of £6.10! I can't lie, there are pubs in the area getting to the £6 mark but this surprised me, given this was a local beer sold in a freehouse! I can think of many tied pubs, paying extortionate rents that still manage to offer far better value than that! The pub has the advantage of being in prime catchment area for walkers, cyclists and diners on the Surrey Hills tourist trail and has a constant source of fresh custom. Whilst for the one off or...
