"We met with friends here yesterday for lunch. Sitting in the sun having a drink it is a lovely setting in a beautiful village. We had booked lunch for four people,we didn't imagine we would be the only people in there. The waitress was polite and friendly. We were not offered a menu but had the choice of roast chicken pork or beef no mention of starters. They didn't have any peas for our friend who prefers them to other vegetables .The food was enjoyable but very ordinary. We had the choice of three sweets one of which was ice cream. When two people asked for ice cream they hadn't got enough. What kind of a place runs out of something as simple as that. We thought it was over priced for what we got.Would not recommend it based on this experience. Meg"

Went on a Friday night to find the only food being offered was Scampi or fish and chips, not what you need when your partner doesn't eat fish.

This is one of my preferred pubs. I regularly go with friends and family and we are always happy with our experience. The staff take good care of us and they always have a variety of beers for us to try.

Asked a local where to eat and they recommended The Red Lion. We had a delightful lunch, the food was home made, tasty, well cooked and plentiful. The staff were friendly and cheerful. The pub was bright and welcoming and made us wish we could stay longer.

Came here for a birthday lunch. Was very quiet for a sunny Saturday afternoon in out the pub. Really love the way this place is decorated. Service was fast friendly. I had the chicken burger. It was chicken thigh meat which isn’t my fave but it was nice, wouldn’t pick thigh meat if it was in a burger again though, it pulls apart weird when eating. Would defo come back here!

This was my first visit to the Red Lion. My wife suggested it as her work colleagues like to go there. My first impression on entering was “what a lovely atmosphere”. The pub had such a lovely friendly vibe. The staff were also lovely. My wife and I are vegetarian and it was so nice and unusual to have to ponder on what to eat. There were far more options on the menu than we are used to. The food we had was fantastic and at, what I thought a very reasonable price. We will sure be eating at the Red Lion again. View menu

We recently visited this charming little pub in the village of Denton. The new owners, Nikki and Wayne, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The pub is family and pet-friendly, with comfortable surroundings perfect for enjoying a drink. What was intended to be a quick stop turned into a delightful afternoon spent with some wonderful locals. The pub was clean, and the added bonus of pleasant-smelling toilets was a nice touch. Unlike many other village pubs, we were impressed and will definitely be returning for another visit. This place is definitely worth stopping by.

We are fortunate to have several excellent pubs in the vicinity, but if you're looking for a great spot with friendly hosts and atmosphere, this place is the place to go. We've been visiting more often lately and have come to enjoy Sunday afternoons with the meat raffle. The pub always has a welcoming crowd, and while it can sometimes be quiet, it's also known to get quite lively, making for a fun time. The beer is always well-kept, and they now offer warm snacks like sausage rolls. The landlord and landlady are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience for their customers.

"we had read very good reviews about the green room, me and 2 friends who have not seen themselves for a few years decided to go for the afternoon. we telephoned, booked afternoon tea and paid our deposit 2 days before. when we arrived. the waiter took us on our table and said: “I’m sorry, but the system didn’t update, so they didn’t know that we wanted to go the afternoon.” that seemed very strange when they had taken the deposit from us 2 days ago! the waiter said we had to order from the normal midday menu. after we had eaten our salad! we wanted to order 3 coffees, I asked the waitress if we could order coffee, her answer was: “It’s difficult because I don’t have a pen!” I didn’t reply, there are only 3 coffees and cakes. I then asked about the bill that lasted about 15 minutes when they finally arrived, they had not taken the deposit we had previously paid, and the waitress said: "She must talk to the manager, I explained that I stayed 10 minutes on the parking lot, so she could be fast. When I asked her what happened to the bill she said, they must go into the bar and sort it with the manager. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service, not only had they forgotten our afternoon, but had also accused the wrong crowd. he was quite arrogant and served other people and let us wait. he said he would take £11 for the mistake with the afternoon! it is a shame that eating and the environment is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service makes this place so much down. it is safe to say we will never return or will not recommend it to one of our friends."
