when we are on vacation in North Wales we regularly visit the red lion for eating and drinks friendly staff good value for money and great beer garden

for lunch with business colleagues, very friendly, we were very welcome. beer great tasting. fresh and crisp. large garden outside, for outdoor kitchen. the food was delicious. would definitely come back.

A warm welcome as we entered and were asked to select a table then return to the bar to place order. A good selection and the food was well presented and hot. Will definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Steak was diabolical Gammon was like bacon Chips were frozen with no presentation Staff rushed off their feet Would do better at home and will do in future you can’t run a pub like this. Overpriced for what we had After a hard days work

We called into our favourite Welsh pub yesterday while camping at The Plassey, as we always do whenever we're in Wales. Fabulous as usual with a friendly welcome, delicious food (2 burgers plus a chicken curry) drinks. A great place for family meals with...a lovely atmosphere. We'll be back soon!!

Fantastic place for family's. Very warm welcome every time and great food and drink. Not our local but travel from the other side of Wrexham to visit here regually as they are so good with us and our son. Harvey appreciates the home made chips...and beans and all the attention very much! Thanks guys keep it up!

Arrived as a guest after travelling to Marchwiel and came to this red lion pub, initially after ordering they came out with the incorrect food which is a genuine mistake. The burger was very under cooked and tasted very very cheap quality! We ordered dessert...to then again receive custard which was like soft jelly…. And the treacle sponge was extremely dry even with the treacle ontop! Certainly won’t be coming again that’s for sure…

We were staying locally and our research showed this place to be the nearest place to eat. We rang two days before to check what time food was served until on a Sunday and were told to get there before food finished at 6. We...took a 20 minute walk on a hot afternoon to reach the pub and arrived at 5.30. Just walking in we received unwelcome looks from the locals drinking at the bar and were then informed that food had finished for the day as the chef had gone home. The apology was somewhat insincere and we left without even buying a drink.

I was looking for a dog friendly pub near the plassey leisure park where we spent a few days. I went to lunchtime and the dog was good and really futile. beautiful fresh bowl water and we sat in the bar...I ordered a burger and it was served immediately and well cooked and well presented. So the woman and I and the ele of the bulldog went back to a meal in the evening after my wife had spent a small fortune in cheshire oaks ordered steak for the woman and a jäger huhn for me. again served immediately and well cooked. I would recommend this pub, the personal was friendly and we will be back.
