"I went here today for my birthday treat. Unfortunately it was poor as when I cut into one of my poached eggs I found a hair in the middle. When the waitress collected our plates I mentioned this and she told me no one in the kitchen had that colour hair and I mentioned how I found it and she said she would go and find out and never returned to our table. There was no apology for the the hair. We were hoping to finish our lunch off with scones but there was no service. My husbands bacon on his baguette was not crispy as he requested and he had to hunt for the cheese."

It was a busy midweek lunch time but the staff were efficient. No problem with being seated and placing our order. A toasty from the specials board was nice

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant. I found my toasted sandwich to be delicious. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was cozy.

Came to Southend and stayed overnight found this tea shop and wow are we glad we did amazing quaint tea shop with amazing food cakes and service will definatley come again

An excellent tea shop, what a lovely atmosphere. The waitresses are veey pleasant and efficient. I had a little wait for my very nice meal. No crisps with it today, but that's a minor thing.

I always enjoy the fresh food and great service at this cafe. Hard to find a cafe these days that serves something other than pre packaged food. Plenty of vegetarian options and reasonably priced.

My daughter and enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate, cake and scone. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly. Such a relaxing atmosphere and great decor! We will be returning very soon for lunch.

Was really busy, but managed to fit us in. Service was quick and we received our food soon after. Had a lovely full English breakfast, and my wife had a fish finger sandwich. Clean place and full of character.
