"This was our first visit to this establishment following a recommendation by a friend, and it didn't disappoint. Together with my wife and four of our close friends we sat down for lunch at and was immediately approached by a friendly waitress asking about...our drink orders which were served within a few minutes. Upon serving our drinks, she then took our orders for meals, and considering everything is freshly cooked to order, they were delivered to our table within minutes, and what a pleasant meal too. The lunch time menu has a selection of eight meals. I was informed that it can become very busy in the evenings, that being totally understandable after perusing the very comprehensive menu, and it was advisable to pre-book if possible. The dining areas are well presented with a not over the top decor, with some lovely water colour prints adorning the walls, many of which are available to purchase. It also serves as a B&B under the banner of Taylors"

on a Friday evening with friends, had a total of two meals. all have enjoyed their food very much and we all thought it was a good one. chips were homemade and delicious. goulash was full of delicate bark meat. would definitely return. was just that they didn't sell alcohol-free warehouse. the staff was very helpful and pleasant.

four of us meet every few months here for lunch. we used to visit the Marston chain, but found the service appalling, which comes a refreshing change in the rock, where we were warmly welcomed by the renter and the staff are friendly....We have in the rule the lunch special, which contains a pornstar, a dessert and a soft drink or glass wein for under.

I've eaten a meal with my husband. I had the duck in black yohannisbeere and honey sauce with sour potatoes and nabeby had the salmon. we were served immediately and just a short wait for the food that was nicely cooked and hot. The...staff were helpful and friendly and checked to ensure that their customers were satisfied and satisfy food. the chocolate cheese cake is amazing. I will revisit in future definately.

We visited this pub for a lunch. The welcome was lovely and all the staff so attentive. We were seated in the welcoming dining room, it was light and airy. We had the choice of the lunch or dinner menus and chose scampi and chips...and a mushroom risotto. The food came piping hot. The chips were homemade and the risotto was soft and full of mushrooms with a rich wine taste. Coffee was lovely too. We will definitely return. Good food attentive service and spotlessly clean.

Five of us had a very pleasant Saturday lunch at the Rock yesterday. Immediately the staff made us feel welcome and the lovely chap behind the bar was helpful when we were choosing our drinks. The restaurant area was bright and pleasant and the menu...was varied and interesting. I had the Caribbean chicken and chocolate cheesecake for dessert. The food was really tasty, we all cleared our plates and the service was friendly. Toilets were clean and pleasant to use. I would definitely return.

Unpretentious, welcoming and comfortable pub. Very good value for money. The food was tasty and plentiful. We visited for lunch and tried the corned beef pie and the faggots and peas. Definitely would go again and try some of the more exotic dishes. The duck...in blackberry sauce sounds good. I had a glass of red wine which was very good indeed. You get used to some very indifferent wines when drinking by the glass, so this was a welcome surprise .Some nice little touches, like fresh flowers, handcream and tissues in the Ladies'.
