I had such an amazing time at The Rule! Our server Emily was fantastic and took amazing care of us all night!! Best service I've had in St Andrews in a long time. The food was great too.

Hogmany party was excellent. Group of 17 staying in St Andrews for the New Year. After eating in The Rule several times over the years we decided to go to the Hogmany party to see in the bells. Food was really good as was the service, our group had a fantastic time. Thanks to all.

Very disappointed with quality of food portion control and description Sold out of veg salad and vegi burrito bowl Pulled beef topped chips for 2 persons. What you got was medium size chips, beef was same amount if you cut a garden pea into 4 pices and Luke warm Big sharer with chicken, halumi ect had undercooked onion rings and luck warm soggy burnt brisket ends Stay away from this place for food go to Zizzi further down the road or Mitchell's

We stayed in St Andrews for two nights between Christmas and New Year, both nights we eat at The Rule. The food was excellent, great choice, the atmosphere in the premises was great. But the staff made it exceptional, everyone of them were lovely, friendly and made you feel special. They knew what you drank before approaching the bar. They helped you out when needed. I am glad we found this pub/restaurant because they made our stay in St Andrews enjoyable. Thank you staff for making our St Andrews trip memorable. To the girls, you always had a smile on your face. My partner and i popped in for a drink ,my partner ordered a lager and i ordered a coffee , we were told we had too have a table number so we pointed to a table , our drinks were paid and we sat down , the lady who took the order was not really friendly and she passed our table at least 5 times but no coffee appeared .after my partner had finished her lager we went to the bar to ask for a refund , the pub was not busy at all, no real explanation why coffee was not served , we believed who gave us the refund was the manager who apologised but did not ask the lady who served us why the coffee was not served

A group of 8 of us stopped by for drinks on Saturday, February 10th. We sat at two separate tables of 4 right next to each other and were enjoying ourselves. However, just after purchasing 8 more drinks, one of the staff members put a reserved sign on one of our tables for 7pm, which was only 15 minutes away from when it was put. Despite us expressing our disappointment to two different staff members, they did not provide a satisfactory response. We ended up finishing our drinks and leaving. Two people then sat at the reserved table, resulting in the restaurant losing the business of 8 customers. It was unreasonable to give such short notice about the reservation.

Stopped in for lunch while shopping in St Andrews. First impression was the menu that was sticky and stuck together at our table. My partner had the mac and cheese and i ordered the first choice of burger on the menu. I couldn't order the beer i selected on the drink deal that accompanies the burger as they don't stock it. When i asked why it was on the menu as a selection i was told that it's only available down south in England. Brewdog pale ale is Scottish brewed! I ordered a flat white instead. Our food came out extremely quickly and it was obvious that my burger was not cooked to order as it had dried out around the edges and was lukewarm in the centre, either re-heated or held in a hot...
