"Went to The Secret Cafe today as it has been quite some time since we were last there. My Mrs had been browsing on Her Chromebook and some review came up about The Secret Cafe and She said was it the same one we had visited some time ago and if so, we need to go again and check it out. The weather today was quite wet and Her indoors suggested we might go today for a bit of lunch so we left a damp Wyke and went over to a very wet Luddenden Foot to pay them a visit. I had already checked the Menu out online and had decided I was going to have the Beef Chilli with chips and a pitta bread, however when we got there the lady that came to serve us pointed out the Specials menu and I clocked the Gammon, Eggs and Chips with Mushrooms and Tomato, so immediately changed my mind (as I am quite partial to a bit of Gammon). Sorry to be boring but we both ended up with the Gammon and two pot of tea. While we were waiting I was watching some of the items coming from the kitchen and said to the Mrs I haven 't seen anything small come out of there yet A full English Breakfast past, flippin 'eck and then a couple of rather large sandwiches in large teacakes and some baked potatoes with ample fillings past our table so I had a pretty good idea what to expect and I wasn 't disappointed. A young woman brought our tea 's and after a while brought the lunch plate which consisted of a nice piece of grilled Gammon a good portion of chips, topped with two fried eggs two large slices of grilled tomato and a good helping of mushrooms. Gammon was properly grilled, the chips were delicious, fried eggs were fresh (the whites were almost meaty, that 's when you know the eggs are fresh and the yolks still liquid, perfect) and a good portion of sweet mushrooms, what 's not to like there. Both of us were highly delighted with our food and enough tea for two and a half cups each, perfect lunch. Lunch for two of us cost 22.00 which included the two pots of tea. Bargain!! The place was quite busy (I 'm not really surprised) however I was surprised at the reasonable prices and quality of the food, so keep it up Guys, you are doing it right. Lastly the staff were pleasant and helpful and on a final note we are going to have to go back to try the Chilli and one or both of the night do 's. It could be Pie Night or the Gourmet Evening possibly even both, so watch for the next review. Thank You to all at The Secret Cafe, the secret 's out"

Called in for a bacon and egg butty and a bacon, sausage and tomato butty on our way past. The food was nice and cooked fresh, they obviously use decent quality ingredients. Was fairly busy and didnt take too long, would recommend.

What an absolutely wonderful little cafe I got a bit hungry and pulled onto the industrial estate thinking there might be a nutty van but stumbled across this cute little cafe run bu some lovely people. Coffee was great, food was delicious, service was perfect....

This place really is secret! We walked from Mytholmeroyd to Stowerby on the Rochdale Canal and planned to stop off on the way back for refreshments at the secret cafe. But there are no signs to help a weary traveller so you have to keep your eye on Google maps or you'll miss it. But it offered a lovely menu, very fresh salads, and a welcome for my dog. I'd go again. View menu

Fantastic service!!! Easy to place an order online, staff are friendly and very helpful. We have tried most of the pies on the menu, all are delicious and reminded me of the pies my Mother made many years ago. The pastry is great and pies are full to bursting with delicious fillings. Recommend the Lamb and Minted Pea.Also ordered for elderly neighbours during lock down who 's comments were Best pies we have ever had Thank you.

I was excited to trying here for the first time. Sadly it’ll be our last. The chicken and tarragon pie was dry with chewy chicken and the pastry was stodgy, the instant gravy lumpy. The cheese and onion pie had no discernible cheese or onion just potato. The chips were horribly soggy and the veg was watery and tasteless with a puddle of water in the bottom of the bowl. The staff were friendly and food was prompt but they were the only positives today.

Walking along the canal with my dog on a very cold morning was made all the more enjoyable by coming across the Secret Cafe, sign posted on the canal.Although I only had a take away cup of tea,the atmosphere was so welcoming and would be a lovely place to sit and sip coffee and chat.I liked the idea that you can pop in and make and design a card while you have a drink or something to eat-a lovely community idea.ery The staff were very friendly and I will definately be returning. We recently had some pies delivered to us from The Secret Cafe after trying their amazing gourmet sausage rolls. The pies did not disappoint either! We ordered from their website and had the pies delivered a couple of days later outstanding service. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb Minted Pea pie; the lamb was incredibly tender and the rest of the filling was incredibly moreish and well balanced. Top tip: buy more than one! When it's this easy to eat well and support a local business, we can't see any reason why we won't be ordering on a regular basis! The owners are some of the loveliest people you'll ever meet too. Definitely give them a try!

What a gem !!! Almost hidden amongst the industrial units from bye-gone times, set amongst the cobbles, and a much welcome sight just off the canal towpath. Breakfast was fabulously tasty, quite literally a plentiful plate of well cooked English grub! I had the vegetarian full English, three tasty veggie sausages, tinned ‘sloppy’ tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, egg and toast all piping hot served with a proper mug of tea! Hubby had the traditional full English breakfast with a flat white coffee and commented on the absolute value for money it was, best ever he said! I have to agree! Staff were so lovely, attentive but not intrusive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Total bill was just unde...

"After using cinnamon spice for many years, last nights service was appalling. 4 hour wait for a curry ordered at 6pm via their website paid for in advance. Many calls during the evening and reassurance given even at 7.30pm informed it was being cooked clearly incorrect misleading information. After an evening of multiple calls to the restaurant having the phone just ringing out, calls cancelled and text messages unanswered I did speak to the restaurant at 10pm they still were giving excuses the curry was being cooked totally unacceptable. A family evening spoilt without even the courtesy to call us and inform us of a 4 hour delay. I dread to think of people who ordered after 6pm when or if their food arrived or was it just ours that was forgotten. The restaurant should not accept orders they cannot deliver in a timely manner and if a delay is above the informed time of delivery the customer should be informed at least then giving us the option of sourcing the families evening meal elsewhere. We are still awaiting a refund which was not processed last night as promised, again very disappointing when the money is taken out if the bank immediately refunds should also be prompt. A family evening ruined by incompetent organisation of a takeaway service which surely was anticipated to be busy, even more disappointing as the food us usually very good but significantly let down by the operational management."
