"The restaurant's reservation system is disappointing. Despite booking weeks in advance through opentable, we arrived to find out that the system was not working properly, resulting in us not having a table and being seated in the main bar area. Although a table was eventually found for us and the staff was apologetic, we were seated in the middle of a loud football game, ruining our dining experience. It took a long time for the staff to take our order, and there were issues with food orders going back and forth from the kitchen. Despite these challenges, the food was delicious once it arrived. The staff were clearly overwhelmed and did their best to accommodate us. The restaurant's reservation system needs to be fixed promptly, and employees should be trained in food safety and hygiene practices. Overall, the food was great and the staff were friendly, but improvements are necessary in the ordering and delivery process."

A really great mid-week evening meal. Tasty, filling and served with a friendly smile. Beer on tap was great. Will definitely be back.

I was looking forward to eating and watching football, but unfortunately the restaurant didn't have the necessary subscription to show the game. Therefore, I decided not to bother eating there. View menu

We turned for a meal, we had to make our way to our own table, it was that according to we couldn't hear each other, we couldn't even read the menu, it was so dark, we waited 10/15 minutes and ended, never again

I received a confirmation email stating that a table was booked for us on a busy Friday night, however, when we arrived, the table was not reserved. It was difficult to find another available table on a busy Friday night around 7 or 8 o'clock. The music in the restaurant was very loud. View menu

We went on a Friday night. The service was a little slow but to be expected considering how busy the place was. Staff were very friendly when you had a chance to speak to them. The atmosphere was great, if a little loud for a dinner/catch up with friends. But the food was absolutely delicious and fantastic value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Booking from opentable never came through and with it being a group booking for 12, I feared we would struggle. Bar staff were ever so apologetic and assured us they would remedy the problem. Within 15 minutes we were all day down with a drink in a cosy booth where we could chat and catch up. Waitress came and took the order including drinks and everything arrived in due course. Forget solita or almost famous, these burgers are the real deal and absolute drinking value for money. Rather than being over priced and leaving you hungry, the food certainly hits the spot. £5 a pint is acceptable for the city and there's a good selection of craft beer too. Selection of spiced rum and gin too is goo...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
