"in this week they stayed here before they travel to France. beautiful inviting pub that is really beautifully decorated. we were pretty late, but the kitchen was kept open for us so we could have a meal. very good food and much of it. the landlord,...the truth is amazing. we met a friend there, but he was mistaken in the famous ship inn in sandgate. She heard our conversation and offered to get him. we couldn't believe someone could be so nice and stand out for total strangers. not only that, but she drove him back to his hotel as we had a few drinks. she was so friendly and welcoming. the room overlooked the harbour that gave us a beautiful view. comfortable bed and crisp, white bed linen. little shower, but the water was hot. all in all, a great statistic and we will definitely be back. trish should be a landwife of the year!"

Food is great and staff are great, a must if you visit Folkestone Harbour which you will have a great view of. Had fish and chips which was perfectly cooked, good choice of beers. Will be back for more next time in Folkestone.

We got such a nice welcome from Trish, the manager. The room was great double bed, spotless bathroom, tea and coffee. But the view over the old harbour and out to the Harbour Arm is brilliant. We may have been staying over the pub...which is great to have a drink in at any time but it was quiet by closing time. All in all, what a gem of a place to stay.

Being in Folkestone for a weekend we wanted somewhere to eat that was not a big chain. From the time we walked in the welcome was very warm. Looked at the menu and decided on the fish and chips. All I can say is wow...the presentation is amazing the portion size was excellent. And it tastes amazing well worth a visit not a big pub but definitely worth trying. View menu

we came here for a pint and some food. the eating was amazing and excellent price-performance ratio the prawn mayo sandwich with salat and chips for £4:50 was simply worth twice that and was beautifully presented and very tasty the drinks are good...to compared to some other bars in the opposite and finally the workers were brilliant that we were served by karen and it is a candy more orte have not come back the same service, quality and worth 10/10

We visited this pub while on a few days break in Folkestone. After a long walk we were in need of lunch and a drink. On entering the pub we were given a warm welcome by the lady behind the bar who was helping out on...her day off )Once we got our drinks we sat down with menus to choose our lunch. The menu has a good choice of small plates, sandwiches and main meals. We enjoyed fish and chips and whitebait. The food was served fresh ,hot and well presented. The chef was a young man who obviously takes pride in what he does. Lunch was washed down with a well kept beer and cider. The pub itself is traditionally decorated and very welcoming. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend The Ship Inn and would return...
